Depends on Ohio's state laws.

But in most cases, your license will usually not get taken by the first offense.

some told me that i dont have anything to worry about because xenia is a rough city where gangs and other crime roll around and they would be worried more of the serious crimes than me speeding. im really hoping i dont get my license suspended because then i wont be able to go to my moms house in jamestown and i wont be able to drive to school and work
also im 17

alright alright, well, I was following the speed limit while i was in the city, it was 25, so i did 25, then the roads got bigger and there were less buildings, it turned to 35, so i went 35, and then the road became open and empty, the speed limit was 50, and so i sped up, and for some reason wasnt paying attention to my speedometer and happen to look down to see my meter climbing to 72 before i realized it and let off the gas and got on my brakes

Yes I believe your license is taken away for a year if you're a minor.
I THINK! Don't quote me on it. Keep us updated on what happens

Hate to break it to you but that's not how the law works. Consent is one thing, but age of legal majority is 18. |

@Widaj
I don't know how is it in America, but if he has Consent he is not a minor.

| Sorry but that's how it works in America. ORC 3109.01 defines “age of majority” as all persons who have reached the age of 18 and are under no legal disability. |

If that's the case, I don't think they will suspend his license on the first offense. It depends on the points.

Technically you can go 5 miles over the speed limit...they won't stop you so remember that. Research what the law is regarding how fast you must be going to loose your license.
Learn your lesson, you can hurt somebody because you simply are going to fast.

u were speedin by 22 miles in a 50
thats a lot and not something that you do in just a couple seconds without trying unless it was downhill and even then

| I checked the laws in Ohio. If you go 30 miles over the limit then it's 4 points off your liscence and you can be charged for reckless driving. So far you should get 2 points off because you weren't quite to 30 over. |

In most states, if you have penalty points over 11, you lose your license.
