Hello everyone,

About two weeks (as I write this) have passed since Isolation: Remake closed and Isolation 2 started development.

I kind of want to explain the purpose of the remake closing, and the purpose of this sequel and the goals I want to achieve with it.

Firstly, the remake was planned to be the FINAL Isolation game one year ago. Development started very well, and it was going very smoothly. However, I promised the game would be ready by Christmas Eve as sort of a 'tradition' due to the original being released that day a year prior. Unfortunately, because of this, the game was really rushed the last 3 weeks of its development, which in a sense made the game very buggy and players noticed that. In fact, I had to spend so much time on bugs that I couldn't add anything new to the remake to differentiate between the original and this new one. People ended up preferring the original, and that's when I kind of abandoned the remake last year.

It wasn't only the bugs, but the remake failed to do a couple things I wanted:

- Fully immersive map
- Completely dynamic weapons system
- Powerful building system
- Other major things

Because of this, I recently decided in September that I would plan a 'true sequel' to the original. I decided I would close the remake on November 12th and create an actual sequel, other than a remake.

What does this mean?

The remake will never open again, and instead will be replaced by the sequel. I already know a lot of you have questions, and I'll answer them in an FAQ on this thread. I've gathered a bunch of the most asked questions, so hopefully I can answer them here:

FAQ FOR ISOLATION 2:

Q; Will the remake ever open again/can I play it still anywhere else?
A; No. The remake is officially closed, and will never open again.

Q; GAMEPASSES! Will the remake gamepasses work on Isolation 2??
A; Yes. They will. However I may not have them on sale anymore, and new gamepasses will come, but the old ones will work, they just may not be on sale for new players anymore. Depends really on how I want the game mechanics to work. But don't worry, if you own a pass in the remake, it will work in the sequel.

Q; Will there be any existing bugs from the remake?
A; No. This sequel is being completely made from scratch. Any bugs that occur happened through this start-from-scratch process, and will be able to be fixed easier.

Q; Will there be ############# ## of right now, no. Inventory saving is something I'm still debating on, but at the moment base saving is almost a 0% chance of happening. People don't really seem to understand why saving is an issue. Basically, if you were to save your base then enter a new server, what if someone else has a base where you had yours? Either your base would have to spawn where their's is, and make them mad, or have to be scrapped due to no room and make you mad. It's a lose-lose situation most of the time, and I'd like to just keep it the way it is. Inventory saving is still something I'm debating about, but other people's opinions on it won't change my view, so don't try ;P

Q; Mobile?
A; Maybe.

Q; Xbox?
A; Again, maybe.

Those were just a few questions I wanted to answer.

Finally, what do I plan for Isolation 2?

Well, I want to add everything I believed lacked from the remake, including the things above. I also want to add more weapons, specifically melee and ranged weapons. More buildings with more unique functions is a goal too. Also I plan to create a more fun and efficient crafting system.

There's much I'm going to be working on that you guys want, but I can't say it all here.

And now, the release date.

Isolation original and the remake both released on Dec. 24th, however I do not plan for this to be completed by this year. The original was actually able to be developed within in a month, but the remake was rushed to reach this deadline. I do not want the same to be for this sequel.

All I can say is 2017. I do not know if it is early 2017, mid-2017, or late-2017. When I say this, I am talking about the complete version of the game. At the rate of development, I can (MAYBE) say an early-to-mid 2017 release of the alpha version. So don't expect a January 1st release like the remake and original. I simply don't think that it's possible with this sequel.

I will leave this thread open so you guys can post suggestions and questions. I'll check it frequently.

Thank you.

Huge fan of the Isolation series! I love coming back to it monthly and being able to get a grip on some old memories or times I've experienced with the game.

I do have two questions, though.

Will there be things to put into your Cabins?

Such as Beds, Rugs, Lamps, etc. It gets pretty boring after you have your hut and everything else set. It feels like there's not a variety of things for you to do.

I've also wanted to ask about things like wolves or bears. (I know they exist, but will they appear more frequent?)

I feel as if it's boring as there aren't many players to combat with, or things, in that case.

I know bears are already in game as I've been chased by like 4 in one run before. but what about things like wolves?

@Its_Ashleiigh,

I plan to allow players to build things inside their cabin, yes.

Bears are going to be re-coded and I do plan for other animals to be in the game, both hostile and non-hostile.

@Blood

I kinda agree, it's weird to start off with an axe, Specifically a metal axe.

Hey billybob idk if you remember me but we joined each other a lot in the isolation games when the game first came out i fell in love with it building cool bases and making creative ways to trap other players and kill them, i think the hype for isolation 2 should be amazing the original was a hit and i cant wait to see what you do, i do have a suggestion tho, when you say more weapons especially ranged and melee i think of a swor and a bow, maybe you could do something with the arrows like the game Rust and have low velocity arrows which cost less materials but do less damage overall and high velocity which travel fast and have better accuracy and do a better amount of damage but cost more materials, i think salvaged tools and weapons would be a cool idea to, so if i find some metal scraps somewhere or somehow cook iron or steel and i rig it together int oa flimsy but sharp sword to wield and decapitate foes, as well animals, i know there are bears and rabbits but the AI for these animals in the original and remake where a little wonky and id like to see those improved a lot but whatever you do i will support your honestly one of my best creators.

Best of luck -Reyn

Please add a singleplayer or play with friends like a private server where maximum 2 players can play(without the Roblox's VIP server) where we can save our basses!

I love this game and I remember when it first popped up and I have been playing since you released it as a paid game.

So first, like other people, I would really like things to put in your cabin, like beds, rugs, tables, lamps. AT LEAST a bed. Also , I would really like doors on the cabins.

Also, I know you've been talking about putting more weapons and more methods of combat in the game, and you know I really like this game but I'm not a fighter and I'd rather just have like threats of wild animals instead of people. So you should make different modes where it would be peaceful or with combat. I feel like if it was only combat the game would be ruined.

And I do think you should make it start out harder, so people actually have to work and it would seem like they are actually "isolated".

Those are all the things I can think of right now, i'll post more once I think of it.

Starting with an axe makes it easy for people with not a lot of skill in survival games being able to rely on common sense and less on uncommon knowledge to the roblox community.
