Re: A convenient and useful way to improve multi-colored CSG.

Hello! I'm Uglypoe, lead developer of Pokemon Fighters EX, and I wanted to suggest an upgrade to Roblox Studio revolving around multi-colored CSG. I firmly believe that doing this (small) change will help many developers across Roblox in both convenient and useful ways. For me, it would be primarily useful, and would also eliminate a major bug in an update I'm working on for my game:

The update I'm proposing would give us access to change any color on a multi-colored union. What I mean by this is when you have two different-colored parts, negate one of them, and then union the together and have SetPartColor false, the resulting union will retain both of the original colors, with the negated part's color filling in the negated area. However, only one of the original colors can be changed, and will only make a difference to the union when SetPartColor is true. As a result, the only way currently to change every color on a multi-colored union is to fully de-union the part and change the colors of the negated parts to what you want them to become.

Instead, I want to see the engine detect when a union now contains more than 1 color, and if so, it turns the "BrickColor" option into a dropdown list containing every color present in the union. In this dropdown list, you would also have the ability to click each color and change it to anything else, allowing you to easily change any color on a multi-colored union.

What are some of the benefits of this? First off, I've noticed that when you change the color of a part, it still retains most of the information for that specific part; it is still the same part, but with a different color. However, with how multi-colored unions currently are, trying to change the colors makes the union in an _entirely different part_, even if it looks exactly the same. A major downside of this is that it also breaks welds when you try to change the multi-colored unions colors, which connects to my issue: I'm animating models with multi-colored unions, and each model has atleast 2 different color variations. However, if I try to make the recolored version of the model, the previous welds connected to the multi-colored unions are destroyed and as a result, any animation that I created for the model cannot carry over between the two models.

As far as I'm aware, a change like this shouldn't be too hard to implement. Although I don't know exactly how the coding is setup to allow for unions to have multiple colors, I imagine it would be easy to change with this update (maybe the coding says that a certain surface now has a BrickColor of Bright Red, so the dropdown list toggle could directly change that value in the code).

I really hope this update does get noticed and added, as it's essential to me releasing a major update to my game Pokemon Fighters EX. Without it, I can't properly animate models, and thus my new custom rig system won't function properly.
