I understand that Roblox is exclusive to the OCULUS RIFT. But let's say you were developing a VR title, and whilst in the middle of development... your headset broke.
You don't know what to do, you panic and cry, you have a deadline within 2 months. It's a sweet roblox title that you're making.
Introducing Gear VR support. You already have an exclusivity deal with Oculus right now, might as well extend it to Samsung phones. It might represent a small amount of Roblox users, but it's still Android.
A controller would be highly recommended depending on the game. There should be a rating system of the type of VR experience (like the Oculus store does).
A comfortable experience would be walking around or riding in a sort of car, nothing too intensive. There'll be settings for people to not get motion sick.
A moderate experience would be where controller usage would be needed, and slightly more visual movement.
An extreme experience would have warnings and these games would need various ways to help people not get sick.
I use the Gear VR as an example because more people on roblox would own an S6 or S7 over a Pixel. Even though the S7 is pricier and the S6 is more or less equal sometimes.
All Roblox VR games should be able to run on the Gear VR. It'll basically be integrated into the Android app. There'll also be Roblox Studio for Android where you can test VR games over WiFi.
Please add this. I want a reason to buy one. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 recently. I think this would be a good idea anyway.

So no one is willing to support this idea?
OK, how about if Google Cardboard/Daydream VR was added?
Thank You. |

"you have a deadline in 2 months and your headset broke" extremely unlikely scenario, not only are there a maximum of 3 people on roblox playing in vr at the same time (your game would get very few visits if it was vr only), but if your headset broke you'd most likely have a friend with a vr headset, you can borrow it from him or ask him to help test you. i doubt anyone has a 2 month deadline that they cant fix their headset in the time anyway

No. Just no.
Notice how the word "Siggy" has the letter G. Notice how "Get out" also has the letter G. What are the differences? You should take the advice of the second one. That's the difference. |
