so instead of spending my veterans day relaxing I've been trying to fix my PC last night it kept turning on after I turned it off, flicked power switch on PSU, flicked back on and it won't start I replaced the CMOS battery nothing paperclip test PSU and cord are fine - PSU is giving power checked power button - did screwdriver trick not starting still is this my mobo? my mobo was made in 2012 and is no longer under warranty, I am using more recent high end components |

| my mouse is also not receiving power from my mobo, it's not lighting up as usual |

more than likely yeah I'd still get a new one anyway if it wasn't dead

my PC is up to date, it just seems like my mobo is screwed it has no visible damage and is built with surge protection in mind |

Try using just the mobo, peripherals, monitor and HDD

check the cords
maybe the 24 pin (or whatever you have) is a little bit loose
