i7 is useless for gaming!!
get 16 GB of RAM, and if you can't afford the 6 GB version of the 1060 than get the RX 480 4 GB. The 1060 3 GB is a much weaker card (other than VRAM, and 3 GB is too little) that the 6 GB version. the 4 GB version of the rx 480 is the same as the 8 GB it just has less VRAM.
And don't you dare buy that. It is an absolute RIP OFF. You can build something sooo much better if you build it. I'm only 13 and building my PC was super easy for me. It's like legos. Trust me

Alright, a few things: 1st off, getting high-speed RAM isn't super necessary unless you do video editing or something else RAM-intensive (in which case you'd be better off still getting more RAM and less speed.)
Secondly, why the 1060? I don't hate Nvidia, but the 470 and 480 will slowly get better as time increases, like all AMD cards are currently; the introduction of DX12 and Vulkan seem to favor AMD's cards (in games not gimped by Nvidia's Gameworks) so you can get essentially the same if not better performance in some games for around the same price.
For thirds: If you're going for an $1000 rig, why a Mate motherboard? Those are meant to be lower-end boards that are capable of only small overclocks.
Which leads me to this question: why are you buying a liquid cooler if you don't plan on overclocking to some extent? I'm aware that the CPU you're purchasing (The i5-6400) is incapable of overclocking by default, but non-skylake Z170 overclocking is still possible if you revert the BIOS version, as shown below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfiGJCUANbA
This overclocking would lead to HUGE performance increases; as shown below, even an OCed i3 can match a non-OCed i5 if you're willing to do some good cooling for it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXZWLz7enm8
Another thing to note: you're buying some non-mainsteam parts (e.g. Asetek and Syber, companies that most PC enthusiasts haven't ever heard of.)
Hope this helps! |

Also, those that claim an i7 is "useless for gaming", no. It's not 2013 anymore, the optimization of DX11 and arrival of DX12 and Vulkan have ushered in a new age of developers realizing that games can be parallelized, leading to GREAT performance on i7s compared to i5s.
However, what you WOULD be correct in arguing is that they are COMPLETE and UTTER overkill and arguably not worth it for the price; an OCed i5 can match an un-OCed i7 in most games. |

The build is decent itself but the price is a little higher than what most 1060 rigs go for. If 999.99 is around your budget you could maybe squeeze in a 1070 instead if you find one cheap enough.

| I think you can do a LOT better if you build it yourself with that budget. |

My build here has MUCH higher quality and power that the pre built trash: https://twitter.com/HeniboyStudios/status/796493635781087233
Bigger SSD for games, slightly better CPU, much better case, much better PSU, much better GPU, more RAM.
Please get my build. |

If he decides to go with a non-K Intel processor there really isn't any need for an aftermarket cooler.

@kyru
why would you need a 3rd party cooler if you aren't OCing.
The stock CPU cooler is pretty good on its own. |

| ###### Because the Intel cooler is EXTREMELY loud? Plus, due to its poor cooling, there's this thing called "Thermal Throttling" which means the CPU will scale back its clock speed to lower the amount of heat generated by the transistor switching: ####################################################### |

| OP probably doesn't even want to OC, and I have had literally zero throttling with my stock cooler, and it is very quiet. |
