since ot does not seem to understand this i'll explain it as simply as i can
a nation is a group of people united by a common language, ethnicity, culture, religion and/or other things
however a nation does not necessarily have independence or like its own government
but a country does have these things (and there can also be "multinational countries" - countries with more than one nation commonly taking part in it - and nation-states - which is a country that is pretty much based off of a single ethnicity or language)
as an example, germany is both a country and a nation, typically regarded as a nation-state but when you refer to the nation of germany v.s. the country of germany, you're talking about slightly different things that just have a lot of overlap
tibet is a nation, but not technically a country |
