In most high schools we do have an elective class that lets us learn all major religions. Of course, some schools do try to get away with only teaching one religion.

| In our country, we have no set religion, it is against our law to force us to learn any specific religion |

I've been learning about Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism in AP World History. Our next unit will teach us about Islam, but we had already learned about all these religions plus a few others last year in AP Human Geography.

Wow. So where do Americans get to properly learn about religion? Do they just go off what they see in the media? |

I believe one state is attempting to remove mentions of Islam from history textbooks.

Nope. RE GCSE is mandatory. The only way you wouldn't have to do it would be if your parents strongly don't want you to learn about other religions. |

There's a big stress in the American public school system to teach about all these religions without bias of the teacher.

Honestly I think that they should teach more about different religions in the US.
In my school, we learnt about different beliefs and views on many subjects.
They taught us that Islam is not bad. Yes, they have some different views and traditions which not everyone will agree with, but Islam is definitely a religion of love and peace.
On social media, I see is Americans with the wrong ideas, believing that all Muslims are extremists. That's definitely not the case.
And I think it's sad that Muslims all have to face this horrible discrimination, and I think it's sad that the people who discriminate against them haven't learnt otherwise. |

Very much true, while I do not hold any religious beliefs to myself. I do wish assumptions aren't made upon the entirety of a religions' members. Because that's clearly worked out all right, before.

If you mean education lead by religious organizations then there is the CCD. If you mean education about religion then they're most likely included in history or social studies classes. Ex: 6th grade we studied India and as a result learned about Buddhism

I mean having at least 1 hour a week where you learn about religious figures, teachings, traditions, and how they are relevant in everyday life.
Because from my 6 years of RE in primary school as well as another 5 years in secondary, I've learnt that even though all religions aren't the same, they aren't really that different. |
