The Sovereign Unity has a multitude of guns. Some of which aren't in the game anymore but still available if I make them. When I started remastering the guns, I didn't just change a few stats and models. I changed how the gun functions overall so that it would play a special role that other guns can't.
In most groups, a gun is just a gun. That's it. They call it a machine-gun because it has a large clip, high fire-rate and low accuracy. But does it really function like an Machinegun? Not really. It functions as a crappy assault rifle.
Sniper rifles are very similar too. Most sniper rifles shoot once with large damage and high accuracy but that's it. In groups the sniper rifle is the hardest gun to achieve and this is because it out duels all other guns.
I didn't want TSU's guns to fall into a similar format. I wanted each weapon to have real strengths and weaknesses. Each weapon I wanted to fill a certain role.
SR10 is the TSU's sniper rifle. People who don't know the weapon say its Over Powered. People who sorta know the weapon says it Under Powered. Those that truly know the weapon says its just right.
Now the SR10 sniper rifle is a level 1 weapon given to all RECONs for free. You don't need to do anything but pick RECON to get this weapon. So what sets it apart from the other sniper rifles from other groups. Well for starters, it functions as a sniper rifle.
The SR10's damage comes from its range. The further you are from your target the more damage you'll deal. This can result in the 1-shot kill most raiders have been seen. This is also why raiders die when they try and 1v1 an SC16 Assault Rifle upclose with the SR10.
Because of this small variable, it changes the way people use the SR10. SR10 is a beast a long range with the potential to trim an entire enemy's rush if they're not paying attention. But this doesn't mean its unmatched. the LS22 marksman rifle, and the HA69 burst rifle are two weapons capable of putting the SR10 in line. While they don't have 1 shot potential, they are extremely accuracy. Though its still dangerous to 1v1 the SR10 with these two weapons.
MG19 is TSU's machine-gun. When I created this weapon, I wanted it to be used to hold down positions and close off choke points. Legacy MG19 didn't do this. It was the typical machine-gun with large clip low damage and high firing rate. But I've made some changes to the MG19.
MG19 has high damage potential now. This weapon can dish out up to 20 DMG per shot. Because of its high damage and high rate of fire, this will push players into cover if confronted with the MG19.
Like the SR10, the MG19 has a few requires that need to be met before it could dish it all its damage. First there is a wind up. The MG19 will start off shooting slow, and then work its way up to a high-rate. This will also build its damage up as well starting from 9. The second thing is that you can't jump/shoot with the MG19.
The MG19 is not meant to kill, but to lockdown objective, and keep hostiles away. The best way to deal with this weapon is to take the MG19 down before it can finish winding up. As it will have a slow firing rate and low damage at the start.
If playing the MG19 you want to position yourself on the backlines providing cover fire for your team. You don't want to be on the front line where you'll easily be targeted and taken down. Position is everything with the MG19.
This concludes my gun update for the SR10, and MG19. Hopefully this'll give players insight on how TSU's guns work, and how to better use them.
