Woke up at 11:30am.
Got into the shower, but got out after two minutes because I felt sick. I could hardly see while getting out - everything was so blurred.
Sat on the toilet seat for a few moments.
I woke up some time later (no idea how long, probably a few moments) on the floor and couldn't move, see or speak. I wanted to call an ambulance so bad.
Not a fun experience.

| Probably should go to the doctors but when you stand up after sleeping immediately, your vision gets blurred and you lose your balance for a few seconds |

instakills i believe you be correct
op, it sounds like you had a syncopal episode caused by orthostatic hypotension, and when you came to, you had sleep paralysis
in other words, your heart wasn't adjusting to the effects of gravity fast enough, causing low blood pressure, resulting in an oxygen deficiency in your brain, which led to the syncopal episode (aka fainting).
the sleep paralysis part kinda interests me because i didn't realize that was possible after a syncopal episode
anyway, there are a couple things you'll want to do today:
first, whenever you feel dizzy or your vision starts going black, sit down or lie down right away. This isn't necessary every day, but because your orthostatic hypotension resulted in a syncopal episode, you don't want to risk falling and getting some sort of trauma. That happened to me a couple years ago - fainted, cracked my head open, and had to get staples in my head.
also, you'll want to drink a bunch of water. The main cause of orthostatic hypotension in young people is dehydration, so that'll help out.

actually it's not really normal to have a syncopal episode from orthostatic hypotension, generally when that happens you wanna keep an eye on it and if it happens super often you wanna consult a doctor
it's not actually a head rush, it's the opposite - blood goes out of the head because your heart doesn't adjust to gravity fast enough
if the syncopal episode happens often that can be indicative of a problem

not exactly sure why you'd get tinnitus (the static) after a syncopal episode
if you have any dizziness, nausea, confusion, vision issues, or anything like that while sitting down or after standing up for a while (basically as long as it doesn't happen right after you stand up and then go away shortly afterwards) go to the er
if none of that happens, the tinnitus may have just been because of the bp change |
