What became known as “Veron’s Vault” was originally part of Vault-Tec’s plan to preserve human life after total nuclear annihilation. The Vault was built some time in 2062 as part of PROJECT: SAFEHOUSE as “Vault #25.” Vault #25 was constructed in the Mojave Desert, but what we call the Mojave Wasteland. Inside this Vault, as a part of Vault-Tec’s tests, was to house fashion designers from the old world. These designers were held in hopes of keeping a “decent fashion sense” after the bombing. And so for many years the designers worked to bring New World Fashion to the apocalypse. In the year 2154, Vault #25 grew prosperous. They had opened their doors to sell attire to the Wasteland. Their sudden increase in wealth caught the attention of Caesar’s Legion, the NCR and various raider gangs. Caesar believed he could obtain plenty of caps to fuel his murderous reign across the Mojave, and the NCR believed that this Vault could help fund their conquest. As for the raider gangs, this was a golden opportunity. The number of caps in the Vault was innumerous and just ripe for the taking. In 2155, a raider by the name of Veron had an idea. His intention was to attack the Vault before the NCR or Legion could get their hands on it. Veron led a force of raiders to storm the Vault, and take caps and lives from them. Everyone in the Vault was either murdered and placed on spikes or put into forced labor. Veron had no intention on turning this Vault into a raider stronghold. He wished to profit from it just as the Vault Dwellers did before him. The old Vault #25 logo that was on the door was removed, and replaced with a large yellow V, Veron’s insignia. The Vault transformed into a raider hub, as well as a clothing store. The surviving Vault Dwellers were put to work, and also used to train raiders as well as inducted Wastelanders how to create and develop clothing. After word about the fall of Vault #25 and the rise of Veron’s Vault came to be, the NCR and Legion lost interest. Neither of them knew that raiders had set up shop and were using the Vault to generate wealth, to the larger factions as far as they were concerned all they knew was that the Vault had been ransacked. And so Veron continued his “company” without disruption. Other raider gangs were too small to take on Veron’s raiding party and to get passed the Vault’s built in defenses and the larger factions simply didn’t care.
