All my schoolmates are in a relationship or have been in one, yet I am not planning to have one till I go to college.

What people call "love" is just a chemical reaction that compels animals to breed.
It hits hard, then it slowly fades, leaving you stranded in a failing marriage.
I did it. Your parents did it. Break the cycle. Rise above.
Focus on life.

Considering it was the basis for early human civilization and is very integral in the breeding process in most animals, it's far from overrated. To call it simply a "chemical reaction" is a bit inaccurate. While various neuropeptides and hormones play a role in the feeling of love (both physical and mental), there are a lot of neuroelectrical components as well. Love is largely driven by various chemicals, but it is also largely based in the consciousness itself. There is a visual EEG component to love, and it doesn't look all that different from someone with OCD, for example. Love is at the foundation of all social animals (humans included). Sure, it's mostly a primal instinct, but it is not overrated. It's a bit silly when people call it MAGICAL, but that's about it.
