| Raising the minimum wage sounds great until half the workers are layed off because it costs 2x as much for the same work |

Raising the minimum wage will increase unemployment.
Let's say Bob and Phil are payed $9 dollars an hour, the minimum wage (only an example). The minimum wage increases to 10.50 an hour, which means the manager will have to pay 21 an hour for 2 people instead of 18. For two people it seems fine. But how about 100+ people all working around minimum wage and it spikes up..... |

| You're implying that a business with 100 people can't afford to pay approximately a measly $150 extra combined on payday? |

But we're talking about 3 MILLION people working on the minimum wage and millions more a dollar above it....
Walmart for example: Let's say 1 million of their 1.4 million workforce work the minimum wage of 7.25
Walmart every day must pay these people who work 7 hours (for estimate reasons) 71 million dollars a day to give these people their money per day.
Let's say Clinton's 12 an hour goes through and you will have 1 million people working for 12 dollars an hour. Walmart PER DAY will have to give its work force 84 MILLION DOLLARS. Of course, Walmart can handle this cause it is a huge business with a wide market. Minimum wage hurts small business employment more because local businesses usually work on one location with about 15 people working. |

good lord so much ideology in one post
the workers aren't "given" minimum wage THEY CREATE IT
MINIMUM WAGE ISN'T GIVEN TO THEM, IT'S TAKEN FROM THEM AND 10% IS GIVEN BACK
profit is >>>THEFT<<<<, all money earned should go to the people that created the value, the workers
god damn

Meanwhile you throw in philosophical terms with economy.............
(Question, is Cheesy for any of the candidates?)
A raise in the wage gap means an increase in umemployment. More unemployment means the chance for more poverty.....and philosophical people dont really like poverty I assume |

Costco is cheaper than any other mass retail store and they pay their workers way above minimum wage. |

Due to its wide market Costco can so.....
Like I said: these huge corporations well for cheap and pay about minimum wage can take a hit, but these small businesses can't |

nothing i said was philosophical
>(Question, is Cheesy for any of the candidates?)
why would i support a system and institution that 𝗆𝗎𝗋𝖽𝖾𝗋𝗌, 𝖾𝗇𝗌𝗅𝖺𝗏𝖾𝗌, 𝗋𝖺𝗉𝖾𝗌, 𝖾𝗑𝗉𝗅𝗈𝗂𝗍𝗌, 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝗈𝗉𝗉𝗋𝖾𝗌𝗌𝖾𝗌 the workers everyday, the very antithesis of human freedom, prosperity, and progress
>A raise in the wage gap means an increase in umemployment. More unemployment means the chance for more poverty.....and philosophical people dont really like poverty I assume
first of all, wage slav############## exist and not only am i not an advocate of a "minimum wage" in the first place, i don't even believe in the existence of currency
second of all, the workers are the heart and soul of any organization, they design, create, and construct the product from scratch, they do the work while the bosses steal the money from the people who actually did the work, this is why i do not advocate for wage slav####### hierarchy
third of all, unemployment is a good thing, in a perfect world almost all work is completely automatic with little to no human intervention, this allows people to do what they want with their free time (travel, learn about other cultures and peoples, study history, philosophy, life, and the universe, pursue the arts, entertainment, and literature)
>Like I said: these huge corporations well for cheap and pay about minimum wage can take a hit, but these small businesses can't
too bad? let the managers rot while the workers prosper with the money they rightfully created and earned

small businesses on average already pay higher than minimum wages. small restaurants have a loophole where you get paid less than minimum wage due to tipping.
it isn't a problem. |

| Transcendentalism: an idealistic philosophical and social movement that developed in New England around 1836 in reaction to rationalism. Influenced by romanticism, Platonism, and Kantian philosophy, it taught that divinity pervades all nature and humanity, and its members held progressive views on feminism and communal living. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau were central figures. |
