The front page of catalog, on shirts and pants, there's rarely any original designs, most copied/duplicated/stolen and are even way high overpriced than the original maker who probably put it up as 5-15 Robux.

I shall be using the word 'steal' because it's what it is technicaly, because the designers never give permission for that. They just take it like it's a free model, which it's not.

We need a new system and make clothing copying against the rules to limit/ cut off these copiers cause it feels like 70% of Robloxians steal these templates/designs made by original designers and it's not like it's maybe a coincidence that the outfits look alike? ITS THE EXACT SAME OUTFIT PIECE BY PIECE, some even try to claim it by changing the clothing template's background (removing original maker's template and adding theirs).

And it's not like the original designers are not aware of this..they know very much, they even get told too. The people getting copied are the people who make extraordinarily creative outfits, and they put a lot of time/ effort in making them so why should 234566 people, steal their clothing templates freely?

People who haven't even been on Roblox for up 6 months copy, and welcome to 2016 where 1k+ people learn how to steal templates and begin doing it every single day. And they almost never even credit the original maker (eg. This outfit was made by ______).

Majority of these template thieves don't even know how to design or use some basic designing apps. What's even more annoying is when there's an original outfit that gets ruined by a copier. Ever bought an outfit and found out that the parts of it that were displayed to be open were actually white? For example, a shirt that displays a hair extension, other parts of the shirt without the hair look open, but when you purchase it and put it on, the parts you thought were open, were actually all white ; Do you not feel like you need a refund? but can you get that refund? no!

A lot even make alts to do this to escape the reality of being a template thief. You find alts with 2000+ outfits that were copied. Not a lot of people will post forums for Roblox to do something against this, because it's 6 out of 10 Robloxians who do this.

Creative developers of games are getting pampered and people who put a lot of creativity into making original Roblox clothing designs get ignored.. Hows that even okay? They should be acknowledged for their creative work too.

A way it could be ended is if it's made to be against the rules of Roblox to steal the templates and if uploading outfits for everyone is disabled, and if there's something like a designer/clothing maker licence, which we can only receive to be given access to upload by passing a test; just to make sure applicants are not any sort of template thief.

Support this please! we need a change, it's been going on for years with nothing done.

Y'know, this whole predicament reminds me of Robin hood in a twisted way.
The (non-prejudiced by Mod's and whom shall not be named) are the rich~
The (Treated unfairly cause of biased choices) are the poor~
The (Clothing stealer's) are the robin hoods~
So if they added this, it'd be a double sided sword, Since people would have trouble buying overpriced clothes, but stealing clothes is also wrong.

So here's a solution: Add this AND allow EVERYONE to create clothes, its unfair how underprivileged clothing designers have to be left in the dust cause of the bias! (Though it'd probably be best to only let players with 3+ years to do this, to avoid any more chaos)

There's another solution, but I'd prefer not to suggest it as it'd just bring more prejudiced choices forward.

Dude, robin hood was a criminal! and he needed to be stopped! irl he is your average crook. The law is law, robin hood was a criminal. If I make a shirt, nobody else has the right to upload it and claim it as yours, People who steal shirts are nothing more than crooks.
but yes people should have the right to upload no matter what there BC status is.

loads of people have done this
roblox has actually made it harder to copy by updating their templates to outsmart roblox asset downloader

we dont need another ten thousand people complaining when they're not even the designers.
be happy that they actually did something after we worked hard to petition.

so what do you want now? they cant change the site

Robin, (Omg the irony~~) No rules are perfect, some are fair, some are messed up, some are just there for no reason, not that im saying stealing is okay, but sometimes certain things NEED to be done, regardless of the law (Susan B Anthony is a key example)
But atleast you can see this is straight up Bias~~ Though not much we can do with it, were just players~~

ya, they can update rules, copiers are pouring in like a waterfall, original designers are only discouraged by it.

Yeah no thanks, I don't want to have to "pass a test" to upload crap just because "clothing designers" can't be bothered to learn an actual skill. (Shaddap I'm BC sometimes). Yeah good for you, you can copy and paste things from google images into Photoshop. You spend thirty minutes on a single shirt. Big whoop. Accept that life isn't fair and move on.

And kindly stop comparing yourself to game designers. Big front page games took several months, some around a year even, to create. That doesn't compare to dragging a bunch of textures over from Google image search and drawing a pocket on it.

Intervecius (Sorry if its spelled wrong~~) I hope you know that was sort of rude, Just because you favour a certain creative outlet (Game devving) doesn't mean you can ASSUME that clothing template fraud is'int a major problem, From the way you talk about it, I could assume you have little to no experience with designing clothes. This is an actual problem, there are no "skills" you can learn to avoid this, if you actually read the post you'd know how easy it is to steal, so instead of using your half-baked, rude replies, try learn a thing or two about designing clothes so you can actually have logical input in a thread like this, thank you.

@waats

I'm not here to spare people's fee-fees, and by "learn a skill" I mean do something OTHER than making clothing. All clothes designing entails is using google to drag some textures and images onto the template, then drawing a few pockets on top of it. I'm sorry, but I can't find it in my heart to be kind to thieves who cry about other thieves stealing from them.

Look at the front page. Seriously. Look at it. All the shirts have the SAME Obey/Adidas/whatever logos, and I refuse to believe that's coincidence. Don't steal other people's work and then cry when it happens to you.

@Internevicus;
I agree, clothing design doesn't take much work.
You just plan, draw, shade, add textures, etc.
It takes an hour maximum to create a good piece of clothing; yet they complain about how it's getting copied.

But copying clothes is disgusting, especially how they glitch it to the front page, and how they receive hundreds of thousands of robux for simply doing nothing.

Atleast creating 'original' clothing takes some effort.

I don't think there is a way to stop shirt and pants copiers. They always find a way!

@Zarqhos

Not enough effort to justify the terrible suggestions designers like to put forth like:

"CHECK IT AGAINST ALL DA SHIRTS HURR DURR!" (This would be feasible if it was just a hash check but those are easy to bypass to the point of not even being worth implementing. They actually want ROBLOX to open every image file and compare sections of it against the template. Do you have any idea how many hours that would take for just ONE shirt?) or;

"MAKE PPL TAKE A TEST TO UPLOAD!" - Yeah no, I'm assuming this is going to be some "How 2 photoshop" questionnaire or something. I don't want to have to learn how to design clothing on a "professional" (KEK) level just because I want to throw together some crappy Satanic shirt like the one I'm wearing or;

"GET MODS 2 CHECK COPY COMPLAINTS" - Do you seriously think ROBLOX has the manpower to devote to manually checking your reports? No, an automated system won't work, see hashcheck bypass above. The moderator team has better things to do than run around the site checking who stole who's pixels first - or - my personal favorite;

"BLOCK THE ASSET PAGE!" - and every time I try to explain to them why doing this would literally break the clothing system to the point that NOBODY would be able to see clothing in game (or even on the website) but the uploader, they then proceed to ignore this and demand ROBLOX do it anyway.

So tell ya what, when clothing designers put forth a suggestion that is technically feasible, effective, and doesn't piss me off or fry the entire system in the process, I'll support ya. Until then, accept that clothes copying is here to stay and any ideas you can think of ROBLOX has probably already considered and decided would not work.
