I'll clarify again, because roblox didn't appreciate my original cuss-free clarification.
A month ago, connect/disconnect were deprecated in favor of Connect/Disconnect. Probably because most other roblox methods have PascalCase, but this is such an unnecessary change.
In other news, I really hope they fix control-Z messing up unions in the workspace |

the devforum isn't worth it. I applied when it was first around, then several months later, then several months later again, etc.. each time I applied I gave something more and more advanced. lectures on advanced scripting concepts, cool stuff with Lua internals, my very own animation framework that uses pure CFrame math. I never heard a word from them. and meanwhile there are people who have front page clickbait free model games who know nothing about scripting who are in rbxdev. it's just their excuse to encourage idiots to make money for them.

| The dev forum isn't meant for scripters; it's meant for developers, succesful ones. A person who has made a front page clickbait free model game is still a developer and the youngest audience do enjoy their games. Obviously the games on the front page are giving ROBLOX a bad reputation, but again, a game is a good game when people keep playing it. It doesn't need to look good at all, have good scripting and not have free models to be fun to play. |

and the keyword there is "successful." that's the biggest problem. they present it as a closed circle of passionate developers, but it's a big fat lie. even if you're the best developer in the world, you have to make ROBLOX money or else they won't even consider you.

I'm assuming you're a scripter mostly. I got in mostly by scripting. Here are my two cents:
I got in the dev forums without being successful at all really. I had a game with about 30k plays, but the amount of plays is not the point. The point was I made something different, something that hadn't really been seen on ROBLOX before, and so I got their attention. There are thousands of people making frameworks, demo stuffs and whatnot. Even if you make these things better than anyone else, you most likely won't get in just because of them. BUT, if you make an actual game, and use the cool stuff you've made to your advantage, you might. |
