Still not on the Wentz hype train. Why? The defenses of the teams he's played.
According to Football Outsiders DVOA rankings (Defense-adjusted Over Value) which analyzes total defense, as well as passing and rushing defense separated.
In total DVOA, all teams Wentz has played (Cleveland, Chicago, and Pittsburgh) rank in the bottom percentile of DVOA. Chicago is 17th, Pittsburgh is 18th, and Cleveland ranks 25th. The Eagles' opponent this week, Detroit, ranks at the bottom of DVOA (32nd).
For pass defense rank by Football Outsiders, all teams Wentz has played is below average except for Chicago, who has gotten bad performances out of Osweiler and Stafford. Chicago is ranked 12th, followed by Pittsburgh as 17th, and Detroit as 32nd in pass defense. Sorry, I'm going to have to see more from Wentz to make the hype train.

*Cleveland is ranked 21st in pass defense, and Wentz's opponent for week 5 (Detroit) is ranked 32nd in pass defense.
In two of these categories, with eight possibilities, Wentz has played seven teams below average in rankings and Chicago's pass defense which is barely above average.

Whoever thought Pittsburgh's defense is good is downright stupid. In recent years, their secondary has been horrible, they've always been looking for defensive backs, and their pass rush was done years ago.
