where i live the end of the holiday is today night, then 10 more weeks till we get a 6 week holiday due to christmas holidays, so i hope i can wait that long :P

40 weeks of school or 1960 hours at school ( not counting special days. but thats 7 hrs per day so )

Australian schooling system is so different from America's that it's wonderful. Glad that we have a 6 week break at the end of our final term.

So, I just did some maths and apparently I actually spend less time at school than you do.
You spend 6720 hours at school (40 weeks does not equal 1960 hours), and I spend 6552 hours at school (or 39 weeks). But, you have longer holidays so how does that work? |

im from NZ but i feel like us australians and new zealanders would have the same schooling system, and i agree with your statement, we may have to spend alot of time at school till a term ends but atlest we get bigger holidays out of it, especially with the very last holiday

Assuming that NZ and Aus systems are the same, I'll explain.
After the first time we get a 2 week break. Same after the second and third term. Our final break after the 4th term is the longest which lasts for 6 weeks.
Each term is never the same length, it always varies with some being perhaps a week or two shorter/longer than others.
