REGIMENT OF THE GRENADIER GUARDS GRENADIER ADMINISTRATION GRENADIER REGIMENTAL STRUCTURE GUIDE
This document will give a brief overview of the regimental structure of the Grenadier Guards.
The regiment consists of 1 Regular battalion, 1 regular company, 1 corp and will soon have a reserve group.
1 BATTALION GRENADIER GUARDS - 1 Battalion is the combat-ready battalion of the regiment, they are usually first to enter a war zone if the regiment is called to arms. It consists of members who are more combat orientated and their training will also vary slightly from the Nijmegen Company.
NIJMEGEN COMPANY- Unlike 1 BATTALION, the Nijmegen Company are mainly based at Buckingham Palace and other Grenadier Garrisons. The company mainly focuses on ceremonial duties rather than combat duty although there is still a combat element.
GRENADIER GUARDS TRAINING CORPS - The Grenadier Guards Training Corps is the forefront of basic training for each individual Grenadier Guard. Everything a Grenadier needs to know to become a regular is taught. Each enlist after completing an initial recruitment phase must go through the corps. It may take up to one month to complete the course depending on the skill level of the individual.
