Be it enacted by both chambers of the United States Congress;
If passed this bill will be referred to as "The Fair Chance Act".
If passed;
this bill will make it illegal for employers to deny an applicant employment because of their criminal record; this bill will ban any questions about criminal history on job applications; this bill will ban any questions about criminal history at job interviews.
An employer can check your criminal record history only after a conditional job offer. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ If an applicant is denied a job because of their criminal record;
the employer must explain why in writing; the employer must also connect your criminal record history to job duties or show it creates an unreasonable risk; the employer must give the applicant 48 hours or more to discuss the issue or any wrong information.
If passed this bill will impact all jobs in the United States that includes privately owned companies. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Why is the bill needed?
Many employers wouldn't even consider an applicant with a criminal record even if it's on UNRELATED convictions. Too many American citizens today are out of jobless because of their criminal history and that is why are unemployment rate is through the roof. This bill will ensure that all public and private employers are considering applicants based on their skills, experience, and qualifications before weighing whether their arrest and or conviction history is relevant. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ The Fair Chance Act allows applicants to be judged based on their merits, skills, experience and qualifications for a job rather than their arrest record.
-Employers may still conduct criminal background checks and deny employment to workers with conviction histories that are directly related to the job.
-The act will lower down our unemployment rate. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Signed, Calvin Romero [I-NJ]

Nay - There's no way I can support something that will allow criminals to go without checks and balances. There's a reason employers don't want to hire criminals, and I don't blame them. This increases the chance of individuals going 'rogue' by extortionate margins that I don't want to even test.
