we get it, you're a really special snowflake
kurt was an alright musician (even if he did suck at guitar), and even if he was a hero-win addict, he was a pretty cool guy.
nirvana might be overrated but they're decent, and they have a lot of great songs (i.e. every song that's not smells like teen spirit) |

"(even if he did suck at guitar)" I personally think that he's an amazing guitarist for his originality, and this is coming from a big fan of Rush. He did have some advanced songs like Aero Zeppelin or Love Buzz but he definitely had a play-it-wrong style. |

| He was terrible at guitar, all ### songs were just the same 4-9 power chords over and over. He was just a bum who thought he was different when in reality at the time, there were about 50 bands just like #### ### was just lucky enough to become big. He ruined MTV ## well with all ### "grunge" garbage. Anyone who thinks those songs have any talent has never heard a real guitar player before. Anyone can play those tunes with one arm tied behind their back. |

| I think it's in the middle. He wasn't a complicated guitarist but he could make catchy riffs and melodies that we remember. |

"Anyone who thinks those songs have any talent has never heard a real guitar player before." But I listen to Rush and I think Kurt Cobain's music is great. Go ahead and tell me that Alex Lifeson isn't a "real guitar player". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjHT-TOTIuU&t=2m42s
Music isn't all about complexity. Imagine if every single song had really advanced guitar parts. That isn't creativity, now is it? Art doesn't have to be extremely realistic and detailed to express itself, just like music doesn't have to be complex and pretentious to express itself.
Some of the best things are those that are wildly unique and creative, yet simple. Nirvana was just that.

What he did at the time was pretty original, the fact that a lot of bands copied the hell out of Nirvana only proves that. Also, he didn't ruin MTV, MTV was just terrible in the first place, and Kurt hated them. He may have been a talentless guitarist, but he didn't give a damn, and that inspired a lot of people. |

Mudhoney's "Need" came out off their Superfuzz Bigmuff album in 1988
Nirvana's song came out in 1993 of their In Utero album

So? He made a song that sounded very similar to his influences. And what's wrong with that? Not all of his songs sounded like that. You do realize that most musicians have at least one song that will greatly resemble the music that most influenced them, right?
You can't tell me you've ever heard anything sound like Hairspray Queen. They were so unique for their time, they had their own sound and they were known for their insane stage performances, with Kurt absolutely destroying nearly everything in sight. They had a completely new style of music and appearance that was virtually never seen before. They did a lot more than most musicians did by showing that it's not all about how flawless you are with music. That's why they are so influential.
We're human. We are the symbolic form of imperfection. Why try to act perfect with the music that we make if we, in all honestly, define the word imperfection?
