So its been almost a year since we have started development on the re-write of Fireteam, and I think its about time that we fill our community in with all of the great progress we have made in the past 9 months. What we are doing will revolutionize tactical shooters on ROBLOX.


Lets start with some history. We released Fireteam as you now know it to the public on December 16 2015. The game was buggy, lacking content, and unfinished; as it is today.
Let me explain why. When I joined development for Fireteam we were already in the process of developing the first re-write, which was being coded by a new scripter: Immersor. At some point we all decided we would be re-writing the game as what we created did not fit the vision of the game we wanted. We had finished all of the main components of the game so we planned a release date. I would like to clear some things up. The current version of Fireteam does support ground vehicles. The reason you dont get to use them is because they are very buggy. The part where things went wrong was the testing phase. For some reason we encountered very few bugs while privately testing the game (which we fixed before release). Upon release of the game, we quickly discovered there was way more bugs than we had originally thought. Many of these bugs got fixed but there is still a good amount of them which we are not sure how to fix. Anyway, we had planned to start this re-write on new years, so up until January 1st, 2016 we worked on the game every single day. Whether it was fixing bugs or adding content. I even added an Easter Egg on Christmas. But when it came time to start working on the re-write, thats what we did. And despite some periodical updates and bug fixes on Fireteam, the re-write was all we worked on.

And now, I think its safe to say our state of development on the re-write is further than the state of the public version of Fireteam.


Now lets talk about the cool stuff.

As many of you may already know, Fireteam will have custom multi-jointed player models.
And no, this is not R15 or whatever. It is our own custom model, similar to what you see in ScriptOns new game [ and speaking on the subject, I just want to say for the record that we did it first ;) ].

So vehicles. So far we only have ground vehicles implemented. They need some tweaks but despite the lack of weapon systems (which will come) they are otherwise fully functional.

Note that the map may look very empty in this image, that is because of our LOD system. In-game the map is covered in trees.

Just a note, the way you used decals and or meshes with textures makes some of the camouflage bigger or smaller than other places on the ### ('s) (Battle Dress Uniform)
