Linkin Park is releasing a new album this year. By this year, Linkin Park meant next year because...reasons. While everyone seemingly ditches the hype over Linkin Park's past albums to hype this next one (which is probably another electronic album), let's take a look at one often overlooked, The Hunting Party. Sure, I'm 2 years too late on this review, but who cares? Let's pick it apart. Much like my last review, I'll list a quick one and an in-depth one below it. Anyways, let's get started.
The Good Songs: "All For Nothing" "Wastelands" "Until it's Gone" "Mark the Graves" "Final Masquerade" "A Line in the Sand"
Bad Songs: Everything else.
Linkin Park has been struggling to maintain their fanbase over the past few years. Ever since they released "A Thousand Suns", fans have seemingly parted ways with the band. Their electronic endeavour may have picked up a bit after "Living Things" by incorporating more nu-metal into the sound, it's safe to say it did their fans no favors. However, "The Hunting Party" was more diverse than their previous efforts. It combined their nu-metal, alternative and electronic style into one of their more experimental albums to date.
As for the core review, the album did Linkin Park a few favors. The inclusion of solos and a harder sound really made the album feel like a Linkin Park album rather than another reminder Dubstep still exists. However, the album was needlessly plagued by filler tracks. None of the fillers are worth listening to, as is the track "Guilty all the Same", which is by far tied for the worst album track with "Keys to the Kingdom". The best songs on the album, at least in my opinion, are "A Line in the Sand" and "All for Nothing". Obviously, "Final Masquerade" was the most different track on the album, but different is good in this case. Linkin Park sounds great acoustically.
Overall, the album is a solid 8/10. While it's not *great* by any means, so long as Linkin Park keeps those 6 songs, everything else is fine. "Wastelands" is a great song to hype up the crowd at a live event while "A Line in the Sand" is a good way to slow things down. Most of the 6 tracks listed above sound a lot better live. However, their recorded counterparts aren't bad either. Although the album suffers from quite a few flaws, it's safe to say it's a lot better than most of their recent endeavors. |

| Like I said, about 5 or 6 songs were good. I understand why people dislike it, but I wouldn't go as far as to claim hatred towards it. If anything, I think their worst albums were A Thousand Suns and Living Things. |

I'm not a fan of the band, but I really do like some of the concepts they have in terms of art
like the hunting party has some really cool artwork in the CD booklet thing |

| I enjoyed the art as well. Art really helps deliver what a song is supposed to be about if done correctly. Most bands slap some weird paining or image on their album and pretend for it to have meaning, but do not. Linkin Park did a good job at picking out an artistic representation that had something to do with the album's message of greed and survival. |

| Not necessarily. There are a lot of visual metaphors you have to look for and relate to properly. The album cover depicts multiple hands attempting to grasp a bow and arrow with spires and smoke in the background. The album art could be interpreted to be having to do with an intense battle or struggle going on in the background. This could be interpreted in many ways. Once you examine the lyrical content of the albums main tracks and examine the art work as it is, you could find the meaning. I have found quite a few. |

They just dont sound like they are having fun in their music anymore. I enjoy the first 3 albums (And Reanimation if that counts) and Living Things and they sound like they are doing really well in those albums. Hunting Party, it just sounds like it has no real meaning. Just there talking about anti war and other shenanigans.

| to be fair (in my own personal opinion) they never really sounded like they were having fun because of all the yelling and screaming in their songs |

| Finn don't you like some metal? Since when have you had a problem with screaming? Also Linkin Park isn't exactly the screamiest band ever. |

| Whatever, Linkin Park is just OK too me. Most of there music is just OK, nothing great or special just passable. Some of it's down right cringe. |

You gotta think outside the box Master he literally doesnt mean he doesnt like screaming, he has never seen the "fun" connection in Linkin Park due Chester always screaming.
If I'm incorrect correct me Finn

| Eh I think Chesters screams aren't that bad. I just find a lot of the stuff too be generic. |
