My ELA class a day ago went from talking about Malcolm X's speech to the presidential election. And I literally fell asleep as soon as it happened.
All Trump did was contribute the the cancer on youtube with his "small loan of a million (insert edgy meme here)" crap. Sanders and Hilary fans are quite stupid and need to be shutdown as they do nothing but try to force people to vote. At this point, society as a whole is just plummeting in every aspect possible.
To sum it all up, politics has been, and always will be trash to me.

Read the title, mate. I never said I don't understand politics, I said I don't understand how it interests people.

idk, maybe it interests people because the person that is elected immediately becomes the most powerful and influential person on the planet...?

ITT someone who isn't nearly old enough to vote thinking he knows everything and saying literally the most misguided, misinformed, and downright idiotic thing he can say about politics
you'll learn when you're older kid, but just for reference now: politics are interesting to people with half a brain because it's literally the direction your government is going to be taking, an it directly affects how the country YOU live in will function
and yeah, how dare candidates try to get people to vote and exercise their rights as american citizens. how stupid right? god kids like you make me think every generation just gets dumber and dumber |

Bubs:
at least in the US, the framers were totally against democracy and had little faith in the public's ability to make informed decisions
that was when a huge portion of people who are now voters
were not voters
we may be too late |

i know that flying, that's why the electoral college was founded
the popular vote was mostly just a suggestion for a long time, because back then how could you expect a farmer that lives 20 miles from the nearest town and only visits to sell crops every couple months to be politically informed enough to make a proper decision
nowadays however, people can access almost the entirety of human knowledge through the internet on the phones. if they were even remotely capable of critical thought, they could easily make informed decisions
sadly though, even with so many advances in communication and with the ability to have everyone connected no matter where they are, most people still do seem to be just as stupid, and just as ignorant
oh well |
