| Whaaa? At least hide it somewhere in the Studio settings menu then. There's no excuse to not provide advanced users with better customization just because kids can't understand "If you don't understand what it does, don't touch it." |

"then make it 13+" what if a kid falsely sets their age? and there is no function in-game to check if someone is 13+ or under 13. there are also a lot of technology-illiterate minecraft-playing 14 year olds thinking they know all about technology because they can install a mod in minecraft, they can also mess settings up
"At least hide it somewhere in the Studio settings menu then" some options are already hidden in studio settings if you haven't already noticed

Move them all as an option under advanced settings which will be kept hidden but can be opened up through a simple button or a drop down arrow and keep the simpler settings visible, simple as that.

Vulkan support.
No more of this DirectX crap. |

"move them all as an option under advanced ae t ho h tiyouio iu nhk jwothj hkj huit3o" kids click a lot of buttons and see what they do, they would most definitely click it and mess up a setting

@Borsy
That thing can kind of happen with or without it. Kids would set their graphics quality to high thinking high is great but would be unaware that it would cause lag on some roblox games, considering how low end DELL/HP PCs are common at homes.
Besides, advanced settings exist in lot of other games too and there are definitely kids who would be playing it, but we don't see the devs complaining.
A good idea is to have an option that resets to optimal settings based on the hardware. |

@Borsy, there is always an option to turn everything to default..
And come on kids aren't that dumb even if they act like. We see a ton of them at CoD and BF witch have far more advanced settings.
This "too complicated for kids" is not a very strong point where every kid around interact with a PC/phone daily.
It's no longer rocket science. |

@sniper
"kids aren't that dumb even if they act like" they are
"We see a ton of them at CoD and BF" they play on xbox, there is no option to change graphics on xbox
"not a very strong point where every kid around interact with a PC/phone daily" ok, so according to you there is no difference from clicking button on your phone, clicking on an icon with 9 dots, clicking on roblox, finding a game and clicking play and changing settings such as MSAA, Anti Aliasing, masterTextureLimit, pixelLightCount, vSyncCount, shadowDistance, shadowCascades, shadowProjection, shadowResolution, resolution, texture quality, bumpmapping, tessellation, ambient occlusion and more.
"there is always an option to turn everything to default" kids will be scared to click because they mess up their settings too much and dont want to risk messing them up even more

there are also different types of kids, some are very technologically literate, and some are very technologically illiterate. guess which ones make up most of roblox user base. the very technologically illiterate ones

if you dont believe most kids on roblox are very technologically illiterate, go to a game page like this https://www.roblox.com/games/499674965/Mega-Fun-Obby#!/game-instances and look at the Servers see the bacon hairs and free hats and the once in a while the user that purchased hats? if you think they are such experts in technology, then im pretty sure they'd be able to find better looks and better hat combinations

what if some kid turns on a graphics option that their GPU just cant handle and the game just crashes on startup? they wouldnt be able to play roblox anymore nor click on the "default" button that they probably wouldnt press anyways thinking its another option

| We can have stuff like render distance and stuff. I agree that they need more options. |

Another addition: If framerate is found to be low, a message will come up saying "Does your gameplay seem slow? Click here to make it faster" and will reset to optimal settings.
"We see you are having trouble starting, do you need any assistance", optimal settings again |

how do you expect them to check if the game is about to crash because the gpu cannot handle the graphics they just enabled and 60% of players will constantly see the "does your gameplay seem slow" popup because their computer is old and slow and lags on lowest settings

Actually the way the message works is that after a crash, the dialog appears on restart.
As for the second part, in that case, have it such that the Player tries to lower the settings as much as possible until it can no longer go further and the message stops. |

"Actually the way the message works is that after a crash, the dialog appears on restart." and how do you expect it to check if the game crashed 20 minutes ago? what if a setting causes graphical glitches and the game's screen turns black on every restart? even if it can check if the game crashed, it won't show you any message and think the game is running ok

Roblox looks fine, we don't need a huge graphics update.

It is definitely possible to detect unexpected termination of programs.
I didn't say it would appear in the roblox player, it would simply appear as a plain dialog box right before the player window comes up. |

kids will think the game is too complicated after they see advanced settings if you wanna make arguments against the "too complicated for new users" point, then argue with roblox staff, not with a random player on roblox
