this is chapter 11.3, we're looking at boolean algebras
I'm supposed to prove various statements and I'm stuck on this on:
11) xy'=0 if and only if xy=x
help please |

I don't think my math professor would appreciate that
Can't somebody help me? Maybe that OT science guy (DapperNarwhale?) could help? |

hm let's see
in order for xy to equal x, y has to be equal to 1
but in order for xy to equal 0, one of the variables must be equal to 0
since y is already defined, x must be equal to 0
x = 0; y = 1
did i even answer the question
jeb get me the seperatrons | yes nice care love make my rep better

"Subtract your math teacher from the world."
Murder is generally frowned upon, and passing a quiz would be the least of my problems then.
"JUST USE A CALCULATOR OR SEARCH UP THE QUESTION ON GOOGLE"
Can't use a calculator, and I can't find the question on google.
"ask yahoo they're answering-bots"
I might ask that stackexchange place, but I don't think they like answering homework questions. |

| y can't u. Just don't let the teacher no and if you don't have one, buy one at the dollar store. EVEN BETTER BECAUSE IT WOULD BE SMALL SO YOU CAN SNEAK IT IN CLASS!! |

| @Astrain1 That doesn't really prove it :( We're working with Boolean Algebras, so I'd have to use laws and theories to somehow prove that xy'=0 if and only if xy=x "if and only if" is a ############## also represented ## iff or ↔ Also note that the apostrophe isn't a typo, it's a unary operator. Kind of like 'not y'. @cars95953 Because a calculator wouldn't help me solve the problem, that's what # meant |

we don't understand this.
ask us about something that has to do with integral calculus; that's easier |

"ask us about something that has to do with integral calculus; that's easier"
unfortunately I already know how to integrate functions and stuff, so I wouldn't need to ask OT any questions about it |

xy'=0 if and only if xy=x
But if y was equal to zero and x wasn't, xy would still equal zero and this statement would be false, wouldn't it? |

11) xy=0 if and only if xy=x isnt this just true or false if so, 0x0 = 0, so theoretically they would both be either 0 or 1 which is every boolean theory right
i identify as a counter strike and i find this globally offensive - |

if xy=0 and if xy=x that means xy*45=45 + (21+ xy)=69 if xy69=x x=0 xy*x=69
