| I find the game awful because it takes what made Fallout 3 and NV good, and throws it out the window. |

@Strait The first tactics is pretty good, but BoS is pretty bad as Straitotkios said. My brother has the first one in his library. |

tactics was great but yeah, fallout 4 blows. they took away what made ghouls, ghouls, and instead look like the dudes from point lookout. |

fallout 4 is decent in my opinion
though i agree on the fact that theres less rpg elements
i think bethesda wants to turn fallout into something like Farcry where its just a simple open world fps

@Erron I don't know why ghouls are so divisive in Fallout 4.
Personally I like how skittish and manouvering they are.
Compared to the other Fallouts when they just walked towards you in a straight line.
Wish they brought back the old Reavers though, fighting one in a building was hell. |

@boston. no kidding in 3 when i was escorting the people from project purity i found a room with one in it keep in mind i was a high level, and the thing was ripping me to shreds. in fact, i'd prefer a deathclaw over fighting a reaver imo |

Deathclaws are pathetic when you craft a dart gun.
I'll say one issue with Fallout 4, the perks don't feel balanced.
You become way too powerful way too early.
Weapons like the minigun which would feel like a reward in the older games are useless because with enough points in rifleman and you can have a rifle that does more damage in one shot than an entire minigun drum. |

honestly boston, the power armor at the beginning is cool but
they made it feel like a chore to have
in the older games, power armor made you feel powerful
it was balanced because it was given to you later in the game when you were skilled enough
thats one thing i dont like about fallout 4
that it gives you power armor early
it should given once you've gotten far enough into the game because thats basically when you're ready for it

what i mean is

Also, all the kids flaming over this obviously hasn't played any fallout games before fallout 4 and would probably call fallout 3 the first fallout game.

Yeah there's a lot of perks in Fallout 4 that renders items pointless.
Take the Junkies legendary effect, the more addicted to chems you are the more damage the weapon does.
Well you can take a perk that basically makes you immune to addiction so basically everytime you get a Junkies weapon it is useless to you.
Same with fusion cores, I think on top of the Corvega plant you can find the repair bobble head that makes fusion cores last 15% longer I believe.
Then there's the nuclear physicist perk that once completed makes them last even longer.
At the end of it you end up with more fusion core than you can shake a stick at because no matter how much action points you use they never run out. |

honestly they should just get rid of perks or only make it so it helps you a lot but doesnt make you overpowered
and have power armor late in the game as a reward for coming this far
luckily obsidian is making another spinoff so..

not to mention that fallout 4 is just incredibly easy
for a game that revolved around 'kill x collect reward', it fails to offer challenge as perks make it easy to become a god and specialize in everything, throwing character builds out the window
the most fun i had in the game was up until the kellog mission or so because at that time managing your ammo is still hard and having to use a dead raider's pipe pistol was really intense and cool
but by the end of the game i was on the hardest difficulty but upgraded gauss rifle, combat rifle, and vats made things so easy

i finished all of new vegas on a pirated copy which had broken vats without knowing that was a thing, and i think i enjoyed it way more than i would have had i been playing a fixed version. vats should be a supplement to help take out strong enemies and not just easy mode for fights.
fo4 became gauss headshot simulator for me which got really boring

The good thing about all fallout games is that you choose your side.
You aren't put into a "good" faction automatically and have to fight against the "bad" faction in most games.
you choose which one you think is good and which one is bad.

@Extra Can't remember what it's called but there's a Gauss rifle you can buy from the Minutemen that does 50% more limb damage.
Yeah it's ever so slightly powerful.
Especially with Mr Sandman, Ninja and Rifleman maxed out. |
