I have already talked about this on Reddit, however, I believe talking about this in a forum post will get more attention.
So let me begin. On almost every single game I come across, a large portion of the players have not customized their avatars. This might not be a problem at first, but like I said, a LARGE portion of the players are like this.
Some of these players probably don't know that there even is a catalog.
You may think that there are many free hats on the catalog for those players to use. However at the time of writing this, there are only 13 free hats. Some of the designs for those hats aren't too good either. The cheapest hats you can get are only 5R$, but most of these accounts will never buy Robux in the first place.
Back to the avatar design, the 3.0 body that is given to new players, doesn't feel right in a game that is mostly made of blocks. It gives an uncanny valley feeling. Some of these players probably don't even know you can take off the 3.0 stuff!
Now, I also found out something about the avatar colors. Roblox still customizes them, but hides it with the 3.0 body. If you are new to Roblox, take off the 3.0 stuff and see the colors that are hidden.
I also made a fresh account to see if there was a pop-up message that told new players that they can customize their avatar with the catalog. Nothing other than a home message that some people won't even bother to read.
So, what should Roblox do about this? They could notify new players that they can customize the way that they look with the catalog. They should also add a feature when signing up, that you can select the type of body you want for your avatar (Classic, 2.0, 3.0.) They could also encourage players to buy Robux. They could also add more free hats that look better.
Hopefully some of the suggestions can get put into play. Thanks for reading. |

i partly support this. if they add too many free hats less people will purchase robux, and tempting people to buy robux is kinda already in progress, maybe not by roblox itself, but the players, who are constantly calling others "noobs". i do believe adding a way to tell people they can customise their character is a great idea as more people can change how they look, 'cos i must admit, the catalogue icon is kinda small and unnoticeable. giving people the choice of package is ok, 'cos people can get more customisation.
and god, it IS a large portion. i would expand but idk how.
overall, i support this i suppose |

| No support, TL;DR: why do baconhairs matter? If they were given a million robux, chances are, it would take them months to figure anything out. They would be the same nonetheless. |

| I support. 2.0 was ALRIGHT, but 3.0 went too far. Especially the fact that they're thinking about implementing R15, that just makes it worse, in my honest opinion. |

TL:DR
There are many players that haven't customized their avatars. The free hats are very limited. I think Roblox should notify new players that they can customize their avatars. |

TL:DR 2
They should also have the option of choosing a body type during sign up. |

zzz....
It's not that hard to look at the top of the screen and click 'Catalog.'
Who the hell doesn't know what a catalog is...?

There are people who don't know what a catalog is. Foreigners, for instance. Children with only basic understanding of the English language. While some would say these kids shouldn't be playing this game, Roblox has become a kids game (not sure how it was right in the start, I wasn't there). I know that when I first joined up, I had loads of trouble customizing my avatar.
I support this suggestion. It's relevant, and it would be good for the community to have less bacon-haired 3.0s. |

@Dandi:
But they remain exactly the same in personality and in manner. It is a badge of shame, if you will -- it lets us separate ourselves. |
