"BREAKING. El Salvador players just ended a presser. They played a recording of a man that offered them money to beat Canada or lose by 1"
"According to the man on the recording, the offer to EL Salvador players was:$30 per min played for a win.$20/min for a tie,$15 for a 1-0 loss"
"Respectively, the offers would’ve paid $2,700, $1,800 and $1,450 for 90-minute performances."
The El Salvador-Canada game will be played concurrently with the Mexico-Honduras matchup. Mexico have already clinched the group title, while El Salvador have already been eliminated from Hexagonal contention.
Honduras and Canada are battling for the group’s final spot in the Hexagonal. Honduras currently hold the pole position – for Canada to advance, they must beat El Salvador, Mexico must beat Honduras and Canada must make up a five goals on Honduras in goal differential.

Did they accept or deny the offer? I assume they denied it.

Well first off, half of their national team already got banned for match fixing three years ago, and if they accepted it, I don't think they would have revealed the offer to FIFA and the media.

To be fair it might be one of the crappiest deals I've seen. Not even making 3000 dollars if they win lmao

I'm not advocate for match fixing but you're gonna need to give the players much more to fix such a high profile match

They're also paying the players to do something they want to do in the first place

Just now learned that the fixing offer was from a Honduran, which makes sense since Canada can sneak in over them depending on the result of the El Salvador/Canada game
