Pale was a simple man who liked good music and advanced literature and writing symphonies. One dawn morning in the day he was out painting the ocean that was visible outside his penthouse on the cliffs of Maine, when he heard the doorbell ring.

100%

except from abut 2005 2011. But aside from that Weezer is one of my favorite bands of all time.

I heavily dislike Weezer. They were terrible live and should not be given as much credit as they are today.

I don't know what you mean by being terrible live, they sounded fine live(unlike a lot of other bands that most people overlook, like Korn....)

YOU SUCK, FINN, THAT'S WHY PALE ABANDONED YOU!

Weezer came to my town and opened for Fall Out Boy who was the headliner. Chevelle was at the event, so I mainly was inclined to Chevelle, who in my opinion, was the best band on the card. At this point in time, I never liked or hated Weezer. I found them to be okay. However, I did hate Fall Out Boy. I have never liked Fall Out Boy and never will. When Weezer started performing, it came to no avail that they sounded different. I shrugged it off since they were older and were most likely warming up with their opening song. However, they opened with my least favorite song "My Name is Jonas", which certainly struck a chord with me.

Weezer's performance started to decline as they never engaged with the audience and never moved around much. Plus, there were multiple occasions when the lead vocalist's voice would tire out and would slow down the song. What really made their performance awful was when they tried to start a mosh pit during their newest single (at the time, this just came out) "Back to the Shack", and not so shockingly, the pit never formed. They tried again during the following song "The Sweater Song", and there was a small pit. During their encore, when the small pit (containing about 3 to 5 people) was still going, they played "Buddy Holly", in which the pit died during the first verse.

Needless to say, their performance was awful and everyone complained when they got off stage. A lot of fans believed they weren't trying or simply didn't want to perform that day. Others thought they were trying to pass the torch to Fall Out Boy by portraying themselves as "too old". I thought that argument was dillusional, but didn't rule it out as they heavily hyped Fall Out Boy before and after Fall Out Boy got on stage.

If any band were to be ruled as 'timeless', I'd rather that title go to Smashing Pumpkins who actually did something for alternative rock.

Weezer shaped how everything sounds right now in the pop world. All the good and all the bad, it's all them (well and obviously The Beatles). But when it comes too Pop Rock? Weezer started it (them and Green Day and Blink 182).

I don't think Weezer was timeless, per say, but it is my favorite band subjectively. Objectively, they're works in the mid to late 2000s were generic, poppy, too simplistic (being simple is fine, but they executed it poorly, like the amount of chords in the Make Believe Album), Songs From The Black Hole was a very great for an unfinished work, and EWBAITE and White Album are very solid albums, especially after a bunch of mediocre, bad, and flat out terrible albums from the band.

Weezer is one of my favorite bands of the nineties. My favorite nineties album is Pinkerton (that and every Nirvana album...ik I am basic and I don't care I enjoy what I enjoy.)

Saying Weezer influenced pop-punk bands is a bit of a stretch. It should be the other way around. Weezer went pop-punk throughout the early 2000's, but none of their work was any good. All they did was copy Fall Out Boy's misuse of pop-punk.
