NOTE: This thread will come off as sort of a rant, and will be decent in length. Ill leave a TL;DR summary at the end for those who don't feel like reading all of it.
I started roleplaying back in early 2009. I like to think i've come a long way since. Do note that I am not ripping on any bad or inexperienced roleplayers in this thread, I used to be one. I am simply trying to point out an issue that I have not only had with roleplaying on this site, but others aswell. This issue is the state of in-game RP.
Kingdom life II was the beginning of my roleplaying career. Not just my roleplaying career on roblox, but the very beginning of my roleplaying interest and hobby. When I roleplayed on that game in 2010-2012, It felt awesome.
When I compare my experiences roleplaying on Kingdom Life II in earlier years compared to the experiences I've had now, These newer ones seem lackluster. Call it nostalgia or whatever you may, but It just seems like the overall integrity and seriousness of RP has died down. I could talk about many awesome storylines I took part in, But only one good story comes to mind in my recent experiences.
I just can't seem to find any dedicated RPers. I know that Kingdom Life has always been full of inexperienced RPers, trolls and non-rpers, but it seems much worse than it was awhile back. I say back in 2010 the ratio of Good, serious RPers compared to trolls and inexperienced ones was a solid 80% - 20%. Now it seems as if it has flipped backwards. I see nothing but mary sues, trolls, non-RPers and characters so edgy that coldsteel would be ashamed.
I know I came off elitist in this rant, and I noticed that I repeated myself multiple times throughout this post, but my question remains the same.
TL;DR: In-game RP feels alot more lackluster than it did in earlier years on this site. What are your thoughts on this? Am I simply elitist or just out of luck in finding good RP? |

inb4 "THIS IS FOR FORUM ROLEPLAYING ONLY!!!" post
Anyways, yeah. It's frustrating scanning forty different servers looking for a group of decent RPers, then never actually RPing with them because they're...
A) Part of a group
B) Private Roleplaying
C) In the middle of nowhere on the map so you don't know where to find them |

Kingdom life II is what actually bothers me, Because its such a good RP system for quick and fun roleplaying. Darkened dawn is alright, but the owner doesn't take it seriously, so I've given up on trying to RP there.
What I think these games are missing is an established lore. I think kingdom life has lore, but its either been deleted by the mods are buried deep down somewhere nobody will ever find it. But then again even if their was established, easy to access lore I doubt much people would follow it.
Its just frustrating to write up a character with a decent backstory and all that, and then go through the effort of designing the in-game appearance of them to make them look good and then just run into a "reblius prencess" or a "mastur assass1n" |

| I hate RPing in ATF because someone always starts an OOC argument... |

@Par
The only solution to this is to give up on it, Because nobody cares enough to in-game RP anymore. |

I mean what should ROBLOX or the creators do?

By ROBLOX you mean the moderators? If so, theres not much they can do. The moderators aren't here to enforce roleplay.
But the creators of these places can do alot. When was that last time anyone here met an admin in one of these RP games? I have never met one. Maybe if an admin just hung around in a few servers banning trolls, it could make the game a little bit better.
They could write up some sort of lore for the game and make it accessible for all. Maybe in the preparation room (Room(s) where players modify their characters and write up backstories and descriptions) there could be some sort of board or book that gives a brief overview of the lore?
But really there isn't much that can be done. Roleplaying games on a non-RP website have very little life and seriousness to them, So I doubt the situation will improve. |

@mrstilts
Hey, what server do you go on? I've been meaning to try it recently but I've been afraid of the interface and what I'm supposed to do. |

| I mostly play on Baystation, and yeah, the controls do need a bit of getting used to. But trust me, once you get a hang on the nuances of it, you won't regret picking the game up. |

| Also, don't be afraid of asking for help in understanding the game, you'll usually find plenty of other players who'll be more than happy to teach you the ropes. |

Roleplaying is now reserved for Forums and ATF (hardly). The Roleplaying clickbait games get worst to
"anamatronic world"
I mean I want a story I could relate to, not some fantasy, that is about toys that come alive at night. In ATF, I love the style of the music and atmosphere, yet the (ATR FP Reference) Youtubers, invited kids, that also watch Markiplier, Ect. That played these sorts of games. There of the creators marketed those types of games toward children while it its normal for them to experiment, the go everywhere else but ATF and Forums. |
