Ok. So I just started a few day ago. But I wanted some feedback on the direction of the game.
https://www.roblox.com/games/467760995/The-Crimson-Lotus
On the first day of release there be only a couple rooms. Your main rooms. The other rooms will have doors bolted shut, flooded, or caved in. In order to discover more rooms there will be a couple game passes.
Electrician Advance
Engineer Advance
Tech Advance
Once a certain number of a pass####p##chased updates are made.
Example. A room has rubble blocking. Once 10 Engineer passes are purchased the rubble is cleared, but there are no lights. 5 Electricity passes later lights are installed. You discover controls but don't know how to use them, 20 tech passes later and the room now has a function, move on to discovering rooms.
So the longer the game is played and the more passes bought the game gets closer to discovering what the Crimson Lotus is and why you are there. Once the mystery is revealed the game becomes and open RP game.
I would love any feedback! |

| So people have to pay to continue the game? Terrible design. |

I get what your saying. But no. The game progresses on a group level, not on an individual level. So you could just not buy any game passes and wait for others to progress the game. Or you could be an active member and directly advance the game your self. And the game passes would be super cheap.
I am all ears if there is another way to do this without game passes. But GP are the only thing that I know of that can be tracked on a game wide level. Any script would function on a server level and just wouldn't work. |

^^Anyone can join it.
Also, I forgot to say this. But each GP has its own indivual perk. Ie. Engineer, engineer morph and wrench item, Electrician, electrician morph and flashlight. Etc. |

| I don't like the concept. While it looks good on paper, paying to continue the game will be hard without a large amount of players and not everyone wants to pay to play a game. (payday 2 Hype Train is a great example) |

I guess it kinda is. But 2 things. I really want to do a player advanced game, where depending on how eager and active players are, the faster the game progresses, and also as I stated. You could spend a cent and let other players do the work. But the game will progress slower. Any ideas on how that could be done without being "pay 2 play?"
I attempt to always be forward |

it could be more of a co-op puzzle game of sorts
join in, take an untaken rule and solve the puzzles
co-op games are literally fueled by the players' interest in the game |

| I am not understanding about the co-op. So your saying make a two player game, and basically a click adventure? Find a door, click to unlock, flooded room, click the water layers to remove them? |

| Also I wanted thank you all for being helpful. I posted this in 6 different areas including where your suppose to put and got nothing helpful. As a matter I got a dislike. Someone literally disliked a barely even alpha game....lol |

I see what your saying. That's not exactly what I want. A couple of issues with that, at least for me. I can't do GUI. That means I have to work at a scripters pace. I have odd times that I can work. Secondly I like the puzzles, I may use that. But I want this to be a roleplay game. Like bigger than three. And I am really really wanting to do a community controlled game. Where everyone that plays the game advances the whole game.
Its so hard to explain... But all the players collectively advance the game. Almost like they are all working together. If its co-op style, then three people can go through the whole game and know something that first time players don't.
In this system, everyone finds out at the same time. If it works, people will lotteraly be waiting doe the next update to see what everyone uncovered. Get what I'm saying?
I do agree that the game passes are flawed. There has got to be a way I can track player progress. The only other way I can think is plays. I have one game that works on this style. Every 100 plays the map and theme update and new special stuff is added. But GPs are much more specific and controllable. |
