NL West is not better, AL East has 3 teams fighting for playoffs/in playoffs spot, only 2 does in NL West.

Cubs went in a slump right before the all star break (like 5-25 or something), but they got their stuff together, and i bet the Giants will too

just stop, if NL West was better, only 1 or 2 team would have over 70 wins but guess what, they have 3 teams that have over 70 teams, im a red sox fan and even I know my own division is better than NL West

it was a 6-15 stretch, which is a lot smaller than what the giants have had. plus the cubs are a more complete team than the giants.
"and really good hitters"
you're dead wrong. they're 22nd in wRC+ at 94...

too bad a terrible BP means you don't have both sides.

i mean the yankees and red sox sort of completely throw that off, and it's irrelevant anyways. the AL east also didn't exist until 1969.

"4 teams"
i mean yeah sure the yankees are only 3.5 back of the WC but they have by far the worst roster in the AL wild card race and have 0 chance at getting the division title. detroit, KC, boston, baltimore, seattle and houston are ahead of you, and all of them are significantly better teams in both terms of on-paper and actual results. you're not the 2007 rockies.

what does that have to do with what i said? if your BP can't close out a game for you then your starters performance means absolutely nothing.

if the starters are doing well, it gives the bullpen less innings to deal with and its easy to use the uehara/kimbrel combination if the starter goes 7 innings and when uehara comes back which he is on the verge of coming back, not to mention, ziegler has been a key piece as well next to buchholz

regardless it means your team isn't complete in pitching lol. like it or not, the jays are the most complete team in the AL east (albeit the red sox do have the potential to be a fully complete team as well). for comparison i'll go over the best i can, obviously my jays knowledge is far superior to my knowledge of the orioles and red sox but it's a general summary lol.
sure, the offence has been inconsistent and isn't performing to last seasons standards, but it's still a very good offence and is always a threat to blow out a team. happ, estrada, and sanchez are all cy young candidates (but the six man rotation killed the groove of them and possibly knocked them out of getting the award). stroman has been streaky but he is starting to become consistent and is lights out when he's at his best. RA is a solid 5th starter, he eats innings and can sometimes throw a gem. loriano is performing as a sixth starter is expected to, pretty much equal to RA.
the bullpen was trash early on, but since the deadline we have been pretty much lights out in the 7-8-9 with benoit/biagini-grilli-osuna giving up i think it's 2 runs in the past month outside of osuna.
the orioles have a better offence sure and a beast of a closer, sure. IIRC they also have a decent bullpen for the 7-8 (even though they really need 5-6-7-8), albeit not lights out. their starting pitching is an absolute dumpster fire though, which is a huge deficiency and is why they're starting to decline. when their bats go cold there's practically no way they'll win.
red sox have the best offence of the three contenders and have some very good starting pitching (looks worse than it is statistically thanks to early season struggles), but the bullpen is an absolute joke outside of the closer. basically the starter needs to go 8 innings and/or the offence needs to score 100 runs to make sure the BP doesn't blow it, and even then you can't trust it. doesn't help that farrell is a terrible BP manager.
