When buying ads, you should be able to choose how long the ad stays up. The shorter an ad is, the more buying power your Robux would have. (You trade time for intensity, basically)
The maximum would be 24 hours, which is the current norm.
So, for example, if you run a 12 hour ad, but it would also have twice as much buying power.
This would help upcoming game makers get higher popularity during a short time, rather than none over a longer time.
Let's say I buy an ad that will give me roughly 5 visitors an hour. That's a total of 120 visitors.
Scenario 1: We use Roblox's current system! People come. They see that hardly anyone is playing. They leave. They also don't buy anything, because who would? The game's a graveyard.
Scenario 2: We choose to run our ad for 1 hour with the same amount of Robux. Instead of 5 an hour, we're looking at 2 visitors per minute (probably more!) Seeing that the game has more people, onlookers will be more likely to join. People would also be more likely to purchase game passes, based on an assumption that the game will remain popular.
Outcome: - Gives new game makers a better chance at becoming popular - Increased game pass sales. This means more money for Roblox Corporation, and more Robux for hard working game makers - With more new games, you can expect to see more variety on the front page instead of the same old games all the time |

| Full on support. Though to be honest ads should just be short and more intense anyway. |

| The 24 hour window was probably chosen to ensure that players around the world have a similar chance of seeing a particular ad. It also would ensure that different times of day are all treated equally, rather than having people all try to run their ads during the same few hours when the online player count peaks. So, to keep a fair distribution of ads, but still allow for shorter runs, it may be preferable on Roblox' end to have a modified version of your idea, in which the timing of the shorter window (i.e. 1 hour) cannot be chosen, but will be placed within the next 24 hours by some sort of algorithm. This way, 24 users could all pay for 1 hour ad sessions at the same time, but Roblox could put them in queue to run without overlapping, to even out the supply. |
