After the invention of the atomic bomb by the United States of America during World War 2, the future forever changed as the world was shocked by the sheer power of such a weapon, a weapon of mass destruction demonstrated on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the second "Great War". However, the times have changed and the year is 1946, the world is now rapidly changing in ideology and technology is advancing everyday! How will you rule your nation, through the hammer and sickle? Or will you lead it with the torch of liberty?

Rules:
1. The technology should not advance beyond ridiculous means, i.e energy weapons by the 1970's.
2. There is no expectation for historical accuracy here, however the world will be first based on the world during 1946.
3. In the event of war between two WMD-capable countries, there must be a writ of agreement between both countries agreeing to use WMD's (OOC), and the Game-master must recognize this agreement before they may be utilized. In the event that the war is between a player and NPC, the Game-Master must first recognize a writ regarding the use of the WMD on a country prior to use.
4. Game-master has the final say, and is at will to make any changes without notice.
5. Keep within the time periods set, technological advancement should be reasonable.
6. Factions may change and be disbanded at anytime if there is no longer a player-based nation controlling it, however, in the event that the faction leader leaves that faction and other players are still within that faction, the management of the faction will be handled by order of seniority in that faction.
7. God-modding, over-inflation of a nation is strictly forbidden, you are expected to expand at an exceptional rate, unless certain events allow the rapid expansion, this is closely monitored by the Game-master.

Weapons of mass destruction (WMD):
WMD's may be possessed by any nation, and WMD's are divided into three concerning categories; biological, chemical, and nuclear. Direct yourself to rule number 3 regarding the use of WMD's in war.

Biological:
Biological weapons are mainly organisms or substances that can destabilize a civilian population. It can move at a steady pace and can infect entire areas and moderately effect other areas. These weapons have very limited use in battlefield conditions and are primarily used against civilian populations and other targets. The use of such weapons has been noted by the international community as inhumane, and will result in a severe relations penalty with the international community.

Chemical:
Chemical weapons have a greater effect in battlefield conditions to hinder the operations of an entire army, and cause mass panic in basic combat units. Chemical weapons are primarily utilized with gases, and can have varying effects due to toxicity, and just which way the wind is blowing! The international community, although condemns the use of chemical weapons for any reason, will not result in as great of a penalty as the alternate choices, however, use of chemical weapons on civilians is largely frowned upon and will lead to a larger penalty than that of combat units.

Nuclear:
Nuclear devices are destructive weapons that destroy vast areas in the blink of an eye. These devices can bring down entire cities in seconds and change the tide of a war, out of fear of practicality. They can be used on both civilian and military targets behind the lines with great effect. One area can be completely obliterated and leave other areas irradiated from fallout, depending if it hits the ground. However, use for battlefield conditions are dangerous depending on proximity of friendly units, and the resulting fallout over the surrounding area. The international community finds the use of such powerful weapons disturbing, and will result in the greatest diplomatic penalty out of all the WMD's.

War:
"War is the declaration of open hostilities between two governments/factions that result in conflict by military forces for a specific objective." as defined for this specific roleplay. This means that you must have a distinct reason for declaring war on a nation, and an objective to be met, In-order to force a player nation to capitulate, you must have a writ of consent by them, and they can then go on to another nation, etc. However, you may "subjugate" or force a player nation to join your faction and otherwise become allies therefore.

Factions:
The world can be divided between two different categories; neutral and faction-influenced. Nations that are in a faction may call the other nations in their faction to assist them in war if it is against a rival faction member, or it is a defensive war. Factions may be formed between two consenting player nations, or between an NPC and player if authorized by the Game master (You are expected to influence them to join first..). Only exception to the accepting an NPC nation is if you subjugate them through war, they may be added to your faction automatically.

Time eras:
Time eras will show progression of tech in the game, the starting date will be January 1st, 1946. There will be four quarter periods every where time is advanced by three months, this does not mean that actions are played out after that three months, it is only used to regulate time, and is not dependent on the amount of posts made.

Every four years, you are expected to update your Nation/Military sheets to accurately describe your nation after the course it's taken in four years, meaning the first update will take place on the 1st of January, 1950, and continue from there.

Government:
Government is key in this game. You must first be historically accurate (unless creating a fictional country), but you are not restricted to control your leader, you are restricted to your nation. "Nation Restriction" means you have the third person view of your nation and may subject it to change at the will, however this must be due to an event taking place (i.e communists overthrow the previous capitalist government and install their new policies).

Space:
Before the space race occurs, the year must be 1955 before any nation can send their first satellite into space, prior to this, nations may begin preliminary preparation such as rocket propulsion testing, the race is won when the first person of any nation lands on the moon successfully and returns to earth with samples. The event must be "televised" and the astronaut must live. There will be a small token research reward to the winning nation.


The United Nations:
The United Nations is an organization that brings countries together to solve problems and assist each other in human activities. The UN will represent your relations impact with the global community, and will be controlled by the Game master, they will be responsible for placing sanctions against arbitrary and heinous nations for hostile and otherwise inhumane actions.

(Last time was the naval aspect and the fact most your tanks were just American tanks. If you make a fictional country, the expectation is for real equipment, but I will not deny you for some fiction added, it'll just have to be like equipment equal to the time period.)

(Kingdom of Soveria under conditional acceptance due to the following: Unrealistic population number, and over sized naval forces, extensive ability to god-mod. Please try to reduce these numbers considerably for acceptance by reapplying your CS with UPDATED information.)

(Keep in mind, that the Russia only had a sixth of this population by the year 1960, and this region had been occupied for sometime, meaning this area had undergone bombing, and devastation for an extensive period. So a reduction in GDP, aircraft, and other contributing factors should be included, especially the navy.)

(I'm going to ask that the navy be massively reduced due to the access of ports in the region, and the fact that this navy does not make sense due to the previous occupation that was before mentioned.)

(I understand this is a fictional nation, meaning there are very little boundaries or set guidelines for it, but it does require it to be possible, the fact that you have a larger population than China and Russia with that little land area can be considered off.)

(However, this is conditional acceptance, I'll reevaluate the updated sheet and if it has improved enough, it will be accepted, I like everything but the numbers and think this would be a real benefit to the region. If you need a comparison, just google Poland/France's population in the 1940's-50's to get a relative example of size.)

(My CS is almost done, I'm just having quite a tough time gathering sources for it, and I'm having to make rough estimates for some because I can't find official sources for some of them. Sorry about that. Just in case, I'd like to reserve the USSR.)
