^Cause 1) They don't actually care enough, and just want to make money 2) Bad editors 3) Good at subject != Good at teaching the subject
Also I've heard some horror stories about professors making their own textbook required material in their classes, for the $$

Khan academy is definitely a good introduction. He doesn't normally delve into more complex stuff though. I like learning by throwing my knowledge at hard problems and seeing what I get out of it. |
