I want to learn how to script... I've sat and thought for a very long time and I just want to make a living out of developing games... Would it be possible at 16 already? It's discouraging with all the people on these forum's stories about how hard it was to learn... Is it a dead-end or should I just think up another career..? |

Sure, anyone can do it. Don't expect it to be a cake walk though. |

Don't learn Lua. It's going to be harder, but get yourself a good grasp of C#. Then develop your games with the Unity game engine.

Isn't Unity marketing much harder than ROBLOX marketing..? Also what would be a good way to learn either coding language fast..? |

Take it on slowly. Remember, other people aiming to develop games for a living end up first being introduced to a programming language when they enter college.
Get a human, they said. It will be fun, they said. |

| Game development is simply the thought of concepts for games in my opinion and scripting is my only obstacle. I have very good ideas that I want to put into life through scripting but everytime I try to sit down and learn it, it get's discouraging |

14, learned scripting when I was like 12 or 13. It's never too late, for gods sake the choice of Lua was one of the best things for Roblox because it's so simply too learn! Also take an example from BuildIntoGames I think he is like 14 or something. As for learning: This https://www.roblox.com/games/167721659/Learn-How-to-Script and the wiki. |

if you want to do that then learn Lua like I said? I gave you the link to Lua 5.0(not 5.1 which ROBLOX uses) book written by the creator of Lua. Go learn Lua then go into ROBLOX. That's how you learn to script. |

| Knowing the ROBLOX Community I probably won't ever have a run on the front page lmao but I need to at least learn one coding language before I get out of high school. |

it shouldnt take you really long to learn Lua its a pretty simple, lightweight language. The link will pretty much teach you a lot about Lua 5.0 then go learn how to do ROBLOX |

JELLY! You have 2 years, go learn C++ or C#! They are 1000x more useful and RBX.Lua is going to handicap you! It makes learning other languages harder. Listen to what I'm saying, don't just blindly stumble ahead like an arrogant fool. I learned C++ in six months.

It's very possible to make a good amount off of roblox. You need to be smart with your games and marketing though. Look at games like Phantom Forces, extremely well made and the player is almost constantly working towards something while having fun, and can use robux to further the fun. |
