In July of 2012, ROBLOX made a blog post talking about new group features.
These features were most notably: >Official raids, in which groups can establish a headquarters and own territory, which can be raided and taken over at any time by rivals. >Ranked battles between clans with a matchmaking system similar to popular FPS games. >Lua API's for group things, such as "–getGroupRank()" and "–setGroupRank()" (which may or may not have been implemented as I am not a scripter and don't really check). >Primary groups show emblems and ranks in the chat, and a chat bar that shows online members. >A group-curated front page. >Group specific forums and chatrooms. >Group economics, which let groups sell their own creations for robux, to let groups "legitimately establish themselves as companies within roblox".
4 years later, none of these features have been implemented, and I'm wondering why. Not sure if anyone here would know, but I personally think it sounds like a good idea.

| TBH though at the time they made that post, clans played a far larger role in the community than they do now. |

Why should they waste time on clans when clans are self-destructive and ruining themselves?
People need to realize that Roblox won't care about us until we start bringing in fresh faces and catering to the younger people again. This notion that a clan only needs elites is what's ruining it.
Clans need to VIP recruit again for a massive influx of people. |

Pretty sure the only guy that was working on this was fired from the team. Don't take my word for it though, alls I remember is hearing about something like that. |

It's been a while since ROBLOX had anything official with clans.
Think the last time they did something was with the ROBLOX Clan Battle when they first introduced the 100 man clan system.
I think if enough interest was gathered in these features then maybe they'd consider it, but I'm probably wrong. |

| @Skydric You may actually be right, the guy who made the blog post was a software engineer and hasn't made a blog post since May 2013. |

If I'm correct the guy who made that post was pretty much the only person in the team really interested in clan features.

@Skydric That's really too bad. They sound like some really good features that would change how clans work *a lot*.

| The blog post never really mentioned that they wouldn't come or that there was a chance of them not coming, just that they'd come "in the future", so I could understand the empty promises idea. |

@Proteckz Raids and the chat yeah, I would like to see an official roblox made raid system though.
@Xorendyruhsik Probably, but who knows. If they think it'll bring in new people (it does sound pretty luring) to spend money (uniforms aren't free, afterall) then maybe they'll do it. |
