There's a rugby league (not to be confused with rugby union, which is the rugby that's talked about here 99% of the time) team in Toronto that is going to play in the ENGLISH third tier. You read that right, a team in Canada playing in a league in England ROFL.
It makes zero sense especially considering rugby league has never ever been relevant in Canada except among a few ex-pats from the UK and Australia.

"That's like if the NFL had a London team"
Not even close to as bad actually. At least there's an NFL fanbase in the UK. There's almost no rugby league fanbase in Canada, and it's also in the third division of England.

To put this into an American sports kind of perspective:
This is like giving Dublin, Ireland a NBA D-League team. |

Another thing I found: they're going to have to pay for all the travelling expenses of the teams and they're in the third god damn tier of English rugby league and rugby league has almost no support in Canada.
This team probably won't even last 2 seasons.
