I quit roblox about a few months ago and I haven't been able to find anything that really allows for the customization of a military replica like roblox does, where you are able to build your own maps and uniforms.
Does anybody have a suggestion for a free or cheap game that isn't a roblox, minecraft, or blockland knockoff? I want to get back into the military genre, and roblox just doesn't suit me anymore. Too old I guess. Help / Suggestions of any kind are very helpful, as I want to get back to being able to customize and create a military of some kind.
ARMA series isn't really an option because of the limitations of the game without buying various DLCs. Also, basically nothing that isn't a massive GPU-killer and FPS-eater to the average player, I want to make sure that people who find my military can join it without too much hassle, like needing to buy a new computer.
If I do decide to come back to roblox, is it worth it? Has the community gotten ANY better? What new crap has roblox put in to make us give them MORE money? |

But there's actually a good game for militaries called "Real Life".
You should try joining the real military and see how they treat you compared to the ROBLOX community. |

If you are looking at it from this perspective, then you aren't going to get anywhere. ROBLOX is transitioning into a more developer-orientated platform. You shouldn't need to expect platform-wide features to accomplish what you want. Rather, you should focus on the development aspect.Next year, they are going to be opening up the catalog to 100% user-generated content (with moderation, of course). I've also heard they are going to do some overhaul of the groups feature. I'm not sure how thats going to go exactly, but it should be good. |

And just so you know, I plan to join the military in about a year and a half. All my uncles were in the military, and half of my cousins are. I plan to keep the tradition alive in my family. I have been in JROTC and I have spent a few nights on a non-JROTC trip to a military base, learning military customs and drills thanks to one of my cousins who is a Lieutenant in the Marines.
I know how the military treats people, and it's not as bad as roblox's tumblr-based community.
If anybody has legitimate suggestions, please PM them to me or find me on skype, where I will be on more often. |

Everyone has cancer. The unknown is called magic and magic is just the unknown un explained.
Cancer is just discovered illnesses that we have, but everyone is dying, everyone has an illness.
You're kinda speaking like karma is a thing. But who knows maybe it is

The real military is more demanding than roblox. I wouldn't suggest enlisting unless you are absolutely serious. |

@Clone
"If you are looking at it from this perspective, then you aren't going to get anywhere."
You can't avoid the facts that for older people, being on a game with kids who join your group left and right that have no idea how to comprehend basic instruction are pretty annoying. Yes, it's a game, but one where people create extraordinary things that they have an image for, something that they most likely don't want 8 and 9 year olds ruining. I'm glad to hear roblox is shifting toward more developer-based things, and I'm curious about the group reform, but that still doesn't fix the fact that the tumblr-like and the young communities both interfere with people who have a proper image of what they want to create, like myself. It creates a hassle that we, as the developer, have to deal with. I've been looking for alternative games with a better community but I honestly am unable to find one, simply because roblox has set my standards for customization and development so high. Roblox already makes enough money without them needing to remove options such as the 6 month BC and adding more and more features that require BC to enjoy and experience. Thousands of ads are shown on roblox per day, and I'm pretty sure that the bidders have to pay a pretty decent price to get it shown to a lot of people, similar to how user ads work. I don't know most of Roblox's financial status, but I'm pretty sure they do make enough money. The game started out free, and it should've stayed that way. There would be a much bigger community by now if it was free.
Regardless of what you read and what you skimmed over, the facts are there and can't be ignored. I know you've been in this community for a very long time, and I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, oh well. I can't preach the same thing to everybody and get them to know what I'm saying or to believe it. |
