| I was wondering if there was any walking script that works like Phantom forces that I could work with for a game I'm making. I know that's a lot to ask for, so if there isn't any (I don't really expect any) then I would like to talk about how Stylist studios might have done it. |

| I really think they actually learned how to mess with C-Frames to be honest. I mean every time your character steps in that game would be a completely different animation. |

| The one part I cant figure out is how the character chooses where to place it's feet (If it was C-Frames) |

Theres an invisible figure eight on the ground and the legs position themselves accordingly on said figure eight parts.

They have their own character rig. Pretty sure it's completely different than what you're used to using in Roblox.
They don't use the animation editor, they write in key frames with CFrames and have an intuitive interpolation system.
That much is easy to figure out. |

| I think that's suppose to be the movement the legs make. Kinda hard to imagine. Anyway I think he used "Point to object" too well... Point to where your gonna stand! Then moved the leg up and forward (Based off the chest position). Then you just place the foot right on target. |

| So when the feet get to the edge of the circle they move to the other side, but how would that walk up stairs? The figure 8 would have to move up or down based on the terrain. |

| I guess there might be rays involved then? With rays you can get the height of the terrain around you |

@Narwhal, you're totally wrong. He isn't regarded as, he IS the greatest at maths in Roblox.
It's like saying Theresa May is regarded as the Prime Minister of the UK. Nono, she IS the Prime Minister

I know. He won't teach you, and he won't give you code. But he will give you a bit of advice or point you in the right direction. I asked him if my code was correct once, and he gave me suggestions on how to fix it. (I was trying to replicate his aerodynamics script)

The walking is done with footplanting. This means each leg has a 'target point' which is moved forward/backwards/left/right using some maths, mostly sin and cos. The leg just points towards this target point.

One word. Inverse Kinematics My guess is there are parts that act as foot locaters, which move accordingly while walking, and iks scripted into the legs makes them bend in such a way to reach the foot locater. The figure 8 some other guy was talking about might serve as a guide for the foot locater to lerp to. |
