| tbh i kinda wanna be in the olympics as a sprinter that'd be my 2nd event after swimming. if i could be a swimmer i would but i mean im scared of deep water so.. |

Depends for what you want to train.
A swimming gold medalist took up the sport at age 19. A gymnast took it up when she was 4.
If you are skilled and interested enough, as well as dedicated to training every single day, you can start at almost any age. |

gymnastics are much harder than swimming so you gotta take it up at a young age
theres also a reason you dont see an olympic gymnast past like 22 or 23 |

True. But aside from seriously specific events like gymnastics, you can start even at age 16-17 and get to Olympic level in not too long.
Hell, I'd like to get to a national representative level in either handball or waterpolo. Then again, that is if I can find any clubs of either sport in my hometown. |

| If you start a week before the Olympics start you should be good to go by the time they begin. |
