If you're lazy (like i am tbh), I recommend at least reading the intro, background, idea titles, and conclusion. Thank you!
Motto: "We say NEIGH to corruption!" Campaign group: http://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=2688747 Twitter: https://twitter.com/AsheinCampaign ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬[INTRO]▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ hey guys whats poppin'? I'm AsheinVI, former Mayor of Las Vegas. I've decided before I retire from Las Vegas, I should make one last impression. Two terms ago, I was Mayor. While I did have to cut my mayor term in half (due to school and finals and such) and have Aluos take over, I accomplished things in that term no other mayor has accomplished before. Because of my experience and desire to make Las Vegas a better place, I am announcing my candidacy for mayor this September election. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬[BACKGROUND]▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ The beginning of my NUSA career began in TTS where Okeg and Bob3915, friends I still have to this day, accepted me into TTS. From there, I learned to love the simplicity of Las Vegas, but it certainly needed more. I applied for many other things like LVPD and DHHS, but I never was accepted. I'm sure that many people from NUSA can relate to that. When I ran for Las Vegas City Council and won with the third most amount of votes, I made it my #1 priority to give jobs to the people. I didn't feel like people needed to look forever to get a job, while the people at the top hold a massive amount of jobs. Because of that, I founded EMS (based off of the dreadfully inactive DHHS). EMS still continues today to be one of the top employers of unemployed, hard working citizens. The term when I took over as Mayor may be one of the most prosperous months for Las Vegas ever. With MikerDC becoming even more active as a developer (with a lot of coaxing and feeding), Las Vegas saw the addition of the following: - The big housing neighborhood - GNC bank - Las Vegas City Council building - The trailer park - real cool cars (the lot of which was built by MikerDC thank u baby) I also tracked my progress on my own Mayoral trello that you can view here: https://twitter.com/AsheinCampaign/status/762104289208729601 I've done many things as LVCC as well. Here are notable ones: - Creating the LVCC Twitter and becoming the Twitter manager. It is used for better communication between citizens and the council, as well as announcing important updates or notifications. - Making the LVCC President an official rank in LVCC and setting a precedent for future LVCC presidents on how to handle issues and do their job - Wrote weekly press releases that stated what LVCC did that week when I was LVCC president (a long time ago) - Hold public polls, as well as the first LVCC approval rating poll In conclusion, as former Mayor and member of LVCC, I know how Las Vegas works, and I intend on making the best it can be for my last term in office. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬[IDEAS FOR LAS VEGAS]▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Just because I was Mayor before doesn't mean I'm not capable of coming up with new ideas; here are some of mine: 1. Better team management. The developers and I would figure out a way to add and remove teams more easily. This would be a big help to private businesses who are often overlooked when requesting a team. An addition like this would also be useful in the event of any team becoming inactive so that they can be replaced by a better team (so far, I'm thinking trello; however, an update like this would need a long conversation with the Las Vegas developers). 2. More news for Las Vegas. No offense to C-Span, but their board by Bank of America isn't being used as well as it could be. I'm not calling for a removal of C-Span (in fact, I think that would be really, really dumb), but it shows that news companies can get a little stale and need some coaxing. Because of that, I would want more news boards located throughout Las Vegas that hold different outlooks and opinions. News companies could be added or removed by an extremely trusted member of the Las Vegas community for maximum news coverage.
3. More jobs. It's very simple. Under my administration, I plan for Las Vegas to be a growing city, and growing cities need more services. Some of the services we could add would be similar to the fire department, taxi service, a rob-able pharmacy with guards, etc. 4. More ways to earn money. So far, the only ways to earn money at Las Vegas are a job, robbing the bank, playing in the casino, and killing people and taking their money (a fun pastime of mine.) ((I'm joking pls don't sue me.)) If elected Mayor, I would be open minded about different ways to make money, legal and illegal. 5. More transparency. The latest LVCC term did alright, but it can be better. I'm willing to create an entirely separate group of people who will be in charge of the LVCC Twitter. With oversight from LVCC, the LVCC Twitter managers will be able to post more accurate things from the viewpoint of regular citizens. I will also push myself and my colleges to WRITE PRESS REPORTS ON THINGS THEY HAVE DONE. I created the LVCC president job to be MORE INVOLVED with the people. I will make sure, if elected, to make the LVCC president and myself be in charge of the face of the Las Vegas City Council. 6. While I have some good ideas, the real ideas come from you, the people.
I will create threads where regular citizens of NUSA can discuss various things that can be added to Las Vegas or ways that LVCC can function better. I will also spend time in Las Vegas to get to know how my city can improve. In conclusion, the addition of my plans for Las Vegas as well as the increased communication between the people and LVCC would make for a fantastic Las Vegas for high ranks and regular citizens alike. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬[RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PUBLIC]▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Ever since I ran for LVCC, I've always run on the basis of being close with the people of Las Vegas. My first campaign promise ever was that I'd go to Las Vegas whenever I could at least once a day just to check on things. As Mayor, this would certainly be something I would follow. I always represent the people's views in my votes, as they are the ones who elected me. This is so important to me that occasionally I will host discussions or post polls asking on everyone's viewpoint on a certain topic. This would especially be used for team removals. Q&As, press releases, and simple conversation are things I take very seriously. As Mayor, it would be certain that those three things will play a yuge roll in my term. ■▬▬▬▬[STANCE ON LAW ENFORCEMENT AND BRUTALITY]▬▬▬▬■ Truly, police brutality IMO has gone down, but it still exists. While law enforcement keeps Las Vegas together, improvements can be made. I helped Kindve establish a more respectable and active LVPD. While in the end, we differ on various topics, my involvement cannot be denied. Reformations are something all law enforcement groups can take into consideration, and I will be recommending it as mayor. With the topic of police brutality always comes crime. One of my top priorities for this term is creating ways people can get employed. Be it public or private, well-paying jobs are the solution to crime. While all of the police and job things sounds nice, we cannot forget for a moment that this is a GAME. I'm not going to make some outrageous promise and say that crime will be 0% as mayor because that will never be the case. This is a game, and people who choose to play it as criminals can do so. If you disagree, you take this game too seriously. ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬[STANCE ON PRIVATE BUSINESSES AND GOVT. WORKERS]▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ I believe that the balance of a good city is a booming private sector and a booming public sector. I would like to see Las Vegas-based jobs become a more common thing, and I also feel like we should give the private sector more attention. Many people try starting up businesses but end up failing. That is really a disappointment that I would like to address as mayor. The mall (courtesy of MikerDC, Aluos, and AcidRaps) is a perfect opportunity for this. This is a game where everything shouldn't be cops and robbers. "Fun" based jobs like EMS and TTS should become a more common thing, and I intend on finding ways to bring them out in Las Vegas.
■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬[CONCLUSION]▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ I believe that I, AsheinVI, can make a positive, lasting impression in Las Vegas. I started off humbly, as a person who applied for jobs and got denied until finally, someone accepted me. However, now as a person (horse) in a position of power, I want to do as much as I can for all members of NUSA. When you think of who you want for mayor, think about someone who knows city politics. Think of someone who has the necessary experience with city politics and who has worked personally with developers and politicians alike. I believe that I am that person, and many others agree.
I may not have been Speaker of the House or even the Vice President, but I don't need those types of titles. If there's one thing I know how to do, it's running a city, and run a city I shall. :^)
