... Literally everything it has has been done before.
I'm not saying it's bad because of this, but still, Starbound did the generated universe and creatures, Elite, Freelancer, Starmade, Star Citizen, and countless others have done the space sim thing.
I could keep going but most stuff points back to the space sim thing.
Inb4 triggered tnt91 from mentioning Star Citizen and Starbound. |

When's it out?
And i'd argue it's still doing something new by taking the universe-formula in STarbound but upgrading it to a much more immersive and detailed first-person experience |

"When's it out?"
August 12th on Steam, so yeah, real soon, I'm just waiting for reviews, $60 is not something I'll drop easily.
"i'd argue it's still doing something new by taking the universe-formula in STarbound but upgrading it to a much more immersive and detailed first-person experience"
Sure, but that's just the same thing but on a bigger scale, making a loaf of bread that's bigger than another with the same formula isn't really new. |

Theres more than one type of bread out there.
There is bannock bread, naan bread, baguette bread, ciabata bread, sliced bread, garlic bread, banana bread, whole wheat bread, potatoe bread, etc.
It all depends on your taste.
-Russians aren't even human. Think about it: what other country has people who live in areas that are cold and inhospitable? Canada. And as we all know, Canadians are just sentient snowmen. Therefore, Russians are buff snow people.- |

First off, Scam Citizen is not a game and never will be. The money people gave the Creator is being used for his Grand Prix vacation, yachting and furthering his Wife's reality show career. CIG is Plagued with Nepotism. He made his Wife, who has NO prior experience with anything that relates to video games one of the most Important role in the company.
Scambound is 2D.
With all these said, No Man's Sky will be a disappointment. Look at what people are Saying about it once it is out. Even before Release the leaked copies show that They Broke a LOT of promises. I don't see why people don't just get Battlefront or something if they want Ship Battles anyway.

They bought a Coffee Machine that costs 20,000 USD. The moral of the Story is, with no "Evil Publisher" to guide them, Developers always, time after time, descend into Sloth and Leisure.

Gameplay of No mans sky:
Mine minerals, put them in your ship, play space truck simulator, get paid, find new cave in another copy pasted planet, mine that, play another delivery, shoot some ai in space, land in planet, build a really bad base because the game has worse building mechanics than subnautica, fly into space again, find an asteroid which has a cave, mine that, fly into space, destroy the deathstar, land on another planet and name it something stupid, deliver the material, get paid, find out you wasted your life on a worse version of minecraft

Tbh I'd wait until at least reviews come out before judging it like that, NightFury.
The thing I keep finding is that people play open world games the best and most efficient way rather than the most fun way, and usually the "best way" is very boring, resulting in them giving it a negative review because it's boring, rather than exploring what else you can do.
That's like grinding in Pokemon from just Rattatas and then complaining the game is boring. (It doesn't fit the best way example but you get the point, it's certainly the most boring way to play.) |

Reviews are Paid and corrupt. The Game releasing is simply not a Factor anymore because there's leaked Gameplay. If you don't like it, You'll dislike the Release as well.

Witcher 3 was a $60 semi-indie game and it did well.

I didn't see any leaked gameplay myself, all I know is that there is lots of hype and lots of "I like to complain about games I haven't played!" I'll read Steam reviews a few days after it comes out. (Which aren't paid, if you think they are I really don't know what to say.) |

I didn't play FO4, said it'd be a Shallow piece of crap anyways from the Leaked Gameplay and It was exactly that. You can easily Judge what a Game will be/is without playing it just by watching enough Gameplay of it.
Steam Reviews are made by "Cognitive Dissonance" sufferers and the "bought ship got destroyed in 5 seconds 10/10 IGN" type moronic useless reviews. I wouldn't give them much Thought personally. Still, I'm sure there will Be Negative Reviews in its front page.

I know that, I was just quoting Super Paper Mario as I found it a fitting quote for how people are complaining.

That's why I read the individual, serious reviews rather than just the percentage.
As for my opinion, I'm not expecting much, I'm expecting usual space sim stuff, but until I actually see some reviews I'm not gonna judge it too much. |

Something that really bothers me though is the lack of multiplayer.
I know people talk about the center and all of that, but that's just speculation on whether those are actual players or not.
Imo you need multiplayer for an exploration game to be more fun, especially a space sim with trading and other player-interaction features. |

Well it does apparently have super-rare player-like NPCs, but that's just not the same.
I kid you not, the devs stated, in a nutshell: "just play destiny if you want that lol" |

I was thinking it might be decent if you can make a crew with friends and roam the galaxy online.
Now it's dead to me.

you can meet up with friends. it's just going to be incredibly difficult.
i think you're taking these issues a bit too far. the point is to build up your ship, your character, your knowledge etc and reach the centre of the universe. after the reddit leaks, they've (apparently) expanded the galaxies tenfold and fixed the exploit he used to get to the centre so fast and they've done some other good stuff with it too.
i'm rather excited about this game, it's relatively cheap at £40 and it's my cup of tea. |
