Being a captain is one of the most complex jobs in the aviation industry. Mastering the pilot skill takes a lot of time and effort. First Officer on the other hand is a very simple concept if the applicant understands the physics behind flying an aircraft. Before going to apply and test for these ranks please ensure you have common knowledge of the following questions and statements as well as the rules and regulations of each. Remember it is not an application which must be sent to me or any of the other high ranks, but a set of trainings and tests which must be passed in order to guarantee your job here in American.
When flying the designated aircraft (most likely a boeing or airbus) a trainer will give you there are a specific set of requirements which must be followed or you will end up with a strike. Two strikes given to you, will result to an immediate respawn and failure to pass for the job.The following set of instructions when flying must be followed in order to pass for captain: 1) Please make sure that your throttle is full so the plane does not go off the runway and is able to get into the air at a faster rate.
2) Maintain a taxi speed of up to 30 knots with correct turns and a good approach towards the runway. Please note, if the plane has been driven off the tarmac it will result in an immediate strike.
3) After you have got the plane in the air, make sure not to fly too steep no matter how much time it saves to get to the cruising altitude.
4) Do not exceed 360 knots when flying the aircraft. 5) The cruising altitude will always be under 5500 feet, hence do not go above 5500 feet when flying.
6) Make sure that the aircraft does not stall. This could be an indication of flying too slow, or a steep descent or take-off.
7) When landing or trying to cruise, be sure to cut the throttle down using the arrow keys or WASD keys, don’t turn the engines off then on again to save time. It is unrealistic and not necessary. 8) When landing, make sure that you do not stall on the runway but have a good approach towards it and a smooth landing. A smooth landing will usually use the back wheels to hit the runway first before the front wheels go down. In short, do not do a bumpy landing.
First Officer Rules: 1) Please make sure that your throttle is full so the plane does not go off the runway and is able to get into the air at a faster rate.
First Officer Rules: 1) When the aircraft has parked at a gate, make sure that the gear and logo lights are on. Also, before passengers board make sure the specific door they will go through has been opened, as well as the cargo doors so that their bags can be stored in a proper manner.
2) Make sure to contact air traffic control before pushback.
3) Before the aircraft pushes back, make sure to close the cargo doors, as well as the cabin door. The ignition and taxi lights must be turned on by the end of pushback. If the flight is a night flight, make sure to turn on the navigation lights for the purpose of vigilance.
4) When the aircraft begins to taxi towards the runway, make sure to contact air traffic 5) control for clearance to taxi.
5) During taxi, don’t forget to extend the flaps to 10 or 15, depending on the aircraft type. It is impossible to take-off without flaps.
6) Once the aircraft has lifted off the ground, wait 5 seconds before retracting the gear and cruising.
7) Don’t forget to put the flaps up, once the aircraft has reached 1800 feet or the captain asks that the flaps be up.
8) On the descent, make sure to extend the flaps all the way once reaching 2000 feet, and extend the gear on final approach.
9) In order to prevent the plane from going off the runway, make sure to turn on reverse thrust and spoilers.
Make sure all this information is learnt before going to a training here in American. The following are the rules and regulations crucial to follow during flights or any event with American. Make sure these rules are followed or severe consequences will follow: 1) Do not admin abuse during the flight. This should be self explanatory, no need for further clarification.
2) Show respect to all fellow staff, high ranks and passengers.
3) Do NOT ask for admin, if you need to fly admin will be given to you by the host.
4) Make sure to never dis-select the plane tool during flight, unless you are trying to keep the plane from going off a runway or cruise brick.
5) Do NOT use :m or :sm during taxi, take-off, or landing because it will lead to low vigilance of the surrounding environment as well as no control over the aircraft’s stall speed.
6) Always strive to make the flight as realistic as possible, even though it is a virtual game passengers should have the feeling of an actual flight.
7) Never teleport a passenger already seated in the aircraft or respond to !help signals given by passengers since it will lead to a disaster in the flight. If a passenger has fallen out of the aircraft, the best response is to :nograv them.
8) The most important rule of all, is to have fun! If you are happy with what you do others will have a mutual feeling. However, do not panic or stress yourself. The quantity of passengers in the server should not decrease your ability in how you fly or control the aircraft’s mechanism.
