PLAYING
1. there are usually 2-3 games in a given week with basketball. in football, there is 1, and during 1 week of the season, there is 0.
2. Practices in basketball key in on fundamentals and are useful. Practices are also efficient, lasting 2-2.5 hours. Large portions of our football practices are lining up against a jv "scout" team, which is useless. practices usually take 3 hours or ore.
3. football is a game where you dont have freedom. there is a set play you must execute. basketball is free-flowing and more artistic.
4. OFFSEASON TRAINING. ins basketball, we train by playing year round, with some summer practices. in football, there is hardly any offseason training, and there certainly arent any real games like there is in basketball. basketball provides more opportunities to play.
5. in football, you can be on the bench for offense or defense or special teams. in basketball, if youre o the court, you effect all aspects of the game.
6. chemistry and comradery and great in my basketball program. not so with football.
7. our football team historically isnt good (should be different this year)
8. football poses a greater chance of injury |

-In before someone gets triggered-
I agree with you in this, i used to play football, and our practices where most of the time a waste of time IMO, just standing around and waiting a turn in a 1 on 1 drill that really didnt help you, or prove anything...
I play year round basketball and i find it a lot more fun, getting a steal running the break finishing the layup on the other end, feels a let better than making a tackle every 15 plays or so (I was a CB)
You're just so much more involved in basketball no matter what, where in football (from my experiences) just play around 1 key player or so |

my friend who is a football player said that basketball is more fun because it's more skill based than athleticism. i definitely agree with you man
as for spectating basketball and football, i find it easier to watch basketball. you might say im biased because i play varsity basketball, but the reason for me saying basketball is easier to watch is because it's continuous, the game doesn't stop every 20 seconds or so. |

maybe to your head but other than that, not really
basketball has destroyed many peoples' knees, ankles, legs, MCL/ACL, etc

True, but if football games were played more frequently. Players would drop like flies for retirement. Cheesey made a good point as well.

"2. Practices in basketball key in on fundamentals and are useful. Practices are also efficient, lasting 2-2.5 hours. IMO I think scout team practices are more useless than useful unless you're at the pro level. Not even at the college level.
"3. football is a game where you dont have freedom. there is a set play you must execute. basketball is free-flowing and more artistic." Basketball has set plays dude, it's just more open to creativity and improvisation.
"5. in football, you can be on the bench for offense or defense or special teams. in basketball, if youre o the court, you effect all aspects of the game." ???????????????????????????????????????
"8. football poses a greater chance of injury" Besides head injuries I think this is debatable |

my basketball team has o set plays except for inbounds, and the vast majority of high schools we play have few set plays
in football most people only play on one side of the ball |
