I made a game in roblox.
I created a script, It works properly.
I saved it without modifying any scripts [Of course it works after I tested it].
It functions well after I tested it.
After 1 week, I went to my gam.
I played it again and everything went messed up, and breaks.
Weapons, AI, Script Events, aren't functioning.
How do I make those scripts functional again?
Even If I re-script them, they really won't work.
[] Is "Start From Scratch Again" the only option to fix Outdating Scripts?
How about those famous games?, Why their game mechanics doesn't break even if they lasted for 1 year?
[Disregard the FilteringEnabled]
[] Or I should just give up scripting in LUA and start making a game in Unity?
My Point: Is there any way to avoid "Script Outdation" ; How do I fix outdating scripts?
Please, help me by Answering this thread.
"[]" are my options, please choose them, and/or answer my questions. |

There is no errors shown in the output, Outdating is really the cause..
I've used the TurboFusion's 2014 weapon kit (AS AN EXAMPLE), but it doesn't functions well this year...
Mostly, my Inverse Kinematics won't function well.
I mean, it turns into a simple roblox walking animation instead of realistic walking animation from Inverse Kinematics..
When I run or play into the studio, no problems will be shown (Commonly blank).
Hmm.. When you script in Unity, does it expires when the unity updates? As same as roblox does?
I wonder why other famous games' script mechanics never outdates, even lasts for a year.
Hmm.. If ROBLOXdevs was updating the Studio, why does those old scripts outdates?
Come to think of it, do any of you [Game Developers] know how to fix this problem?
When a script outdates, maybe it won't be fixed anymore?
I mean, you get to start from the scratch again?
It's really hard if you made a script with a tons of codes typed, and then outdates..
My reaction is like: "Why ( >:O)"
........
Hey ROBLOXdevs, could you please explain why does the script outdates when the Roblox Studio updates? I would appreciate it.
I mean, this is a serious problem for me. Sorry for bothering you if I did.

Don't use depreciated stuff.
I did it and never had any of my scripts randomly break. |

I've never heard of "Depreciated".
So, I've searched that word and this shows:
Depreciated, on the other hand, derives from Latin "pretium" = price. It's used of things which have reduced in value over time.
Am I right?
So, what do you mean, Depreciated? You mean, expired? |

:Remove() is depreciated but :Destroy() isn't.
Basically, it is a collection of stuff that shouldn't really be used and might be removed. |

my only guess is that
1. You are not very good at scripting and script things horribly(No offense) 2. You may be using deprecated things like mouse.KeyDown()
other than that idk iv never had things break like that even when I first started scripting |

@Sharpchain [Pardon my worst grammar, I hope you can still understand what I'm saying]
In your "1.)", maybe you're right. And I admit that I am yet ahead to Professional.
In your "2.)", yes, some of my scripts often use "mouse.KeyDown()", If you want me to decrease it, it would take a ton of time to decrease it and recode it just to make my scripts work without "mouse.KeyDown()".
======================================================================================== Also, I'm scripting offline, plus, I'm only using wifi in-order to test my creation.
I mean, I can use Roblox Studio Offline, except when its all about testing it w/ player.
And my Roblox Studio was downloaded and never updated since last month, so it runs only few of my scripts [If I had the chance with WiFi].
Importantly, updating Roblox Studio takes a day, since I only live in province where WiFi detection are quite rare. ========================================================================================
Just TL:DR that long paragraph from above.
Importantly, "mouse.KeyDown()" is very essential to my scripts and I often use it.
Decreasing those codes in the script that contains a tons of codes takes a week, and it makes my back bends too much.
I appreciate your help, sharpchain1.
But that's not it.
I still want to make it work disregarding the "Removal-Of-mouse.KeyDown()-In-The-Script" method.
Any suggestions mates?
And I still don't understand what "Depreciated" means..
Depreciated mentions about price and money. |

If your friends or acquaintances are admins in ROBLOX, please link them to here and I want to hear their advice about this issue, and it's really serious for me.

Always try to use the newest and best methods to do something so you won't have to rewrite it later.

@Ske If RobloxDevs discontinued those codes from being used, the code I used will never work anymore?
Example: In my code: game.Workspace:Delete() ["Delete()" which robloxDevs used before, in LUA]
Roblox latest code: game.Workspace:Remove() ["Remove()" was the latest word used by robloxDevs in LUA] [Note: It's just my example regarding my understanding] |

@Ske If my understanding is wrong.
What do you mean then?
Does it mean, I'm using any outdated codes that was used by roblox?
Another Example: Old Saving System Used in Roblox: Data Persistence [Which I'm using it currently]
New Saving System Used in Roblox: Data Store [Which it was now trending to everyone, except me, because of my lack of media]
[Note: These examples are just examples, don't get carried away. It's just my kind of understanding] |

@Ske If there are some codes that roblox never used anymore, can you tell me what kind of codes are like?
Does the "mouse.KeyDown()" was never used by roblox anymore? Did they replace it with another word/code? such as "mouse.ClickL()"? [<-Example] |

Using deprecated stuff will not make your script break Until rocrap makes mouse.Target for UIS, I'll keep using it |
