| Time travel and teleportation are both possible, and we're already capable of teleporting photons. |

@debate,
Not only are we capable of teleporting photons a few feet, we're capable of teleporting them up to but not limited to 25 kilometers.

Did you know?
Humans are the only species capable of befriending any species of animal? |

Did you know that according to all known laws of aviation,
there is no way a bee should be able to fly.
Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.
The bee, of course, flies anyway
because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black.
Ooh, black and yellow!

That in Kingdom Hearts, Spock (Leonard Nimoy) played Xehanort. And Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) played Eraqus |

Did you know the New World (the Americas) was discovered by Columbus only 40 years after the fall of the eastern Roman empire?
And the Eastern Roman empire was still very much alive and kicking when Leif Erikson found the New World.

"Time travel and teleportation are both possible, and we're already capable of teleporting photons."
We can do that with electrons too, but it still presents a sort of ethical debate. It replicates the the subatomic particle and destroys the original. It's not really transporting or teleporting anything. It's extracting information from the original electron, sending it to another, that second one sort of mimics the original, the original is destroyed, and the new one sort of becomes the original. Apply that to humans. You step into a chamber in Portland Oregon. There is a receiving chamber in Tokyo with placeholder matter, which will eventually mimic you. All of the information that makes you YOU is extracted, sent to the receiving chamber, and then the matter in the other chamber takes your shape. It still has all of your memories and looks EXACTLY like you, but the original you is killed and destroyed in the process. Is Debateyou #2 REALLY you? No one could tell any different, but the original you died in the process. It'll almost be like being replaced by a very good doppelganger who thought he was actually you.

Thank you so much, man. <3

Yeah, there are a lot of interesting things that can be accomplished with quantum mechanics. It's a universe all of its own.

Sorta did in your thread. My explanation is hypothetical, improbable, but it isn't impossible.

@Crystal,
What if time travel works by travelling works by traveling to a different dimension currently enacting our past which causes it to splinter and affect other timelines? And ours is the futuremost timeline, making us the ones that would have to discover the machines?

Yeah, this would fall in line with the many-worlds theory (which also tries to explain the collapsing of the quantum superposition). It's a little bit "out there", but who's to say it's impossible? In this case, we wouldn't ever travel backwards or forward, but SIDEWAYS. Time isn't constant, and it may not even be linear.
