Hello, Soldier. First, some very basic info. I am your Commander-in-Chief, NoelsNook (Remember to call me Sir, DO NOT CALL ME NOELS! Respect my title). Also keep in mind that we are not friends. It's not that I don't like you, it's just that I cannot develop personal relationships with the members. It makes it hard to punish you when you break the rules. So, since we are not friends, do NOT ask me to test your maps/models, do NOT ask me to make you a map/ad/thumbnail/uniform for free, and, most importantly, DO NOT ASK ME FOR A HIGH RANKING POSITION.
If you are reading this guide, it is because you have decided to become a loyal and formidable soldier in The United States Army. By reading this guide, you will be ensuring future promotions for yourself. I.e., if you wish to get promoted, you must read this guide and abide by its rules.
This guide aims to inform soldiers of what is required of them within the group, as well as to impart upon them important group information. Reading this guide is REQUIRED.
PART I - The United States Army and You!
☪--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☪
This part of the guide is to tell you the expected behavior within the group, as well as to tell you some easy tricks and tips on how to get promoted after finishing training.
A good U.S. Soldier MUST do the following 10 things!
1. Follow ALL orders from soldiers of officer rank or anybody that is higher rank than you are (HR+) WITHOUT QUESTION. This means that when an officer gives you an order, you say "Yes Sir", or "Yes Ma'am!" AND NOTHING ELSE. If there's anything that's sure to make an officer angry, it's seeing a soldier say "..." after they're given an order. Do not be passive aggressive. Just follow orders without question. Following orders is a SURE way to get you promoted.
2. Be in UNIFORM! When at army maps, you are ALWAYS considered on duty. There is no grey area. Either get in uniform from the morph or leave. Failure to comply will result in demotion. Being in uniform at all times, even when not at army maps, is a sure way to impress me and your officers.
3. PATROL! Showing up to patrol the FOB is ALWAYS a good thing. Trust me, I am CONSTANTLY checking our servers, even on my iPhone when I'm not at home, to see who is active. It may be boring if you're alone, but believe me, stick with it. The more people that come to patrol, the more fun it will be. Having people patrol our maps shows that we are an active group and brings in visitors to join us. PATROLLING IS THE SINGLE BEST THING YOU CAN DO FOR OUR GROUP. Plus, any HR+ can hold official trainings to get you promoted! It's MUCH easier to host a training when the men are already there patrolling. You wouldn't want to miss out on a promotion, would you? Good! Then patrol!
4. Be kind and courteous to visitors, allies, AND enemies. Why be kind to enemies, you ask? It shows that we are a mature group that handles war and other such engagements like GENTLEMEN. Being a gentleman is just about the most important thing you could do. Showing that we are mature will cause people to leave their groups and join us, because they know that we're a more professional group. Additionally, if you REALLY want to make an enemy angry, you will act intelligently and reserved. There's nothing an idiot/troll hates more than someone who won't give them a good reaction. Remember that when dealing with visitors, allies, and enemies, you are representing OUR group. If you can't do that in a mature way like I described above, then keep quiet. There's nothing a HR hates more than having their negotiations sabotaged by a pissed off soldier.
5. RESPECT your fellow soldiers! They, just like you, joined this group to be part of a powerful group of people all dedicated to the same cause. By causing arguments or insulting other members, you are tearing apart the very fabric of this group. Insulting group-mates (or visitors, allies, or enemies for that matter) can easily result in demotion or banishment. It's not hard. Remember the golden rule: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
6. Use official terms! Although remembering all these terms/words is not necessary, it's a VERY easy way to prove that you read this guide and that you wish to immerse yourself in the culture of the group (In other words, using these phrases will help you get promoted).
7. Be aware that you are ALWAYS being watched by people of higher ranks when you are at our bases. Do not try to break rules or protocol. You will not get away with it. If YOU witness somebody breaking rules, report it to MP or JAG IMMEDIATELY! But do not say something like "Builderman was AAing". JAG will require CONTEXT. All reports should have a FULL story of what happened.
8. DO NOT ASK FOR PROMOTIONS. This can NOT be stressed enough! Why is this a rule? Because asking for a promotion proves that all you're interested in is promotions. If all you want is promotions, walk away and join another group RIGHT NOW. In the army, we expect our members to have a real desire to better us and become the best Army group on Roblox. This does not include you becoming a four-star general. That isn't to say that you CAN'T become a four-star general, because you definitely can. Just follow the protocol for promotions and you're sure to reach one of the highest ranks in this group!
9. USE GRAMMAR, SPELLING, AND PUNCTUATION. Again, very important. This shows that our members are not only skilled; they are INTELLIGENT. This also means that you should refrain from using internet slang such as lol/lel, omg, nu, etc. Also, refrain from using faces! This is one of those rules that isn't ALWAYS applied, but it definitely makes getting promotions easier! Use words to articulate your emotions. Not faces.
10. Become a real part of the group! Converse with people about the group on the group walls, show up to group places very often, and even do some tidbits of research on the U.S. Army! It never hurts to learn more about the role you are playing in-game. Also, feel free to join one of the divisions in this group. Speak to its's commander for more info.
11. GET TEAMSPEAK! Teamspeak is a very important thing here in the army and the USM, because it is our main source of verbal communication. Without teamspeak, it is very difficult to achieve a SNCO or Officer rank. Download and connect using the IP in the group description.
PART II - Promotions and How to Attain Them
☪--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☪
So, you want a promotion? Please, don't spam my inbox with requests. I will just ignore them.
Remember, you don't "deserve" a promotion. You are not "owed" a promotion. Your Drill Sergeants will give them out as they see fit. If you have a problem with the way the DS's promote, take it up with an officer, not me.
Respecting your superior officers and NCO's is CRUCIAL here. Respect will get you far in the army. Please read the ranks below, their paygrade, abbreviation, and how to address holders of that rank:
ENLISTED/NCO RANKS E1: PVT/Private (Addressed as "Private") E2: PV2/Private II (Addressed as "Private") E3: PFC/Private First Class (Addressed as "Private") E4A: SPC/Specialist (Addressed as "Specialist") E4B: CPL/Corporal (Addressed as "Corporal") E5: SGT/Sergeant (Addressed as "Sergeant") E6: SSG/Staff Sergeant (Addressed as "Sergeant") E7: SFC/Sergeant First Class (Addressed as "Sergeant") E8A: MSG/Master Sergeant (Addressed as "Sergeant") E8B: 1SG/First Sergeant (Addressed as "First Sergeant") E9A: SGM/Sergeant Major (Addressed as "Sergeant Major") E9B: CSM/Command Sergeant Major (Addressed as "Sergeant Major") E9C: SMA/Sergeant Major of the Army (Addressed as "Sergeant Major" or "Sergeant Major of the Army")
WARRANT OFFICER RANKS W1: WO/Warrant Officer (Addressed as "Warrant Officer") W2: CWO2/Chief Warrant Officer 2 (Addressed as "Chief") W3: CWO3/Chief Warrant Officer 3 (Addressed as "Chief") W4: CWO4/Chief Warrant Officer 4 (Addressed as "Chief") W5: CWO5/Chief Warrant Officer 5 (Addressed as "Chief")

PART III - I'm An Officer Now. Just What Does That Mean?
☪--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☪
A commissioned officer is anyone who is a Second Lieutenant+. This is a short list of requirements for army officers. Your responsibilities, of course, go far beyond these. These, however, are the basic necessities.
1. Obey orders. Just because you're an officer doesn't mean you're above orders. Anyone higher rank than you is your superior and must be treated as such.
2. Respect the men. Do not be a tyrant. Just because you're an officer, that doesn't mean you're better than the men. Remember, you were once one of them! If a soldier messes up an order, do not berate and humiliate them. Be stern, but not aggressive. Ask them whether they know the order, and if not, teach them. NEVER USE ADMIN COMMANDS TO PUNISH TRAINEES WHO MAKE MISTAKES. The only exception is :fling. This is a nonlethal and nonrestrictive way to get them out of line and to embarrass them just enough to try harder next time. Only use this command if absolutely necessary.
3. Do not hand out demotions and exiles left and right! It's hard enough to get promoted. Don't cause Soldiers to desert by demoting them every time they make a comment, break a rule, or screw up miserably. Simply tell them that they're receiving a warning and if the behavior continues, it is punishable by demotion or exile. Simple as that.
4. Lead by example! Officers are expected to be FAR more mature than regular members. If you're not behaving maturely, you will be demoted without hesitation. Immature behavior includes, but is not limited to: spam, internet slang, AA, arguing, excessive use of force, insulting people, and other general tom foolery. If you're not sure whether it's mature or not, simply don't do it. It's probably not. Also, DO NOT USE ADMIN COMMANDS UNLESS NECESSARY. Silly commands like :loopfling and :cape are very immature and will result in demotion. Also, :btools is the MOST forbidden command in this group. Giving yourself gear that is not already in the starterpack will DEFINITELY result in demotion. Don't be stupid. Just don't do it.
5. Patrol and host trainings! This is your NUMBER ONE responsibility! I cannot as the CiC. I just don't have the time. It is the job of my officers to know the commands and host SEVERAL trainings every week. If you do NOT know the commands, watch a training and take notes. Do NOT train the men if you are not 100% sure that you know every single command PERFECTLY (that includes wording). Remember, being active at the bases, and more importantly, hosting trainings, is the ONLY way to keep getting promoted as an officer and possibly get a recommendation for a promotion! Hosting trainings as an officer is equivalent to attending them as a Soldier. Just do it!
Part IV: Training!
☪------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☪
The following is a list of orders and protocol that should be covered in every training. Learn them, live them, breathe them.
☪------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☪
First, some basic terminology:
☪------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☪
1. The command: "Fall In!" means Shoulder To Shoulder. This is essentially a firing line or to start of a training. So, when your commanding officer says "Fall In", form a shoulder to shoulder line facing him.
2. Ranks. During a training, you may hear the word ranks. This is not ranks in the sense of group positions. Ranks are rows of men in firing lines. So, if your officer says "TWO RANKS, FALL IN", he wants there to be two STS lines of men, one behind the other.
3. PTS means Permission To Speak. Always ask this before blurting something out in line. Speaking in line is forbidden! Also, if it's not important to this specific training, simply don't say it at all. You're wasting everyone else's time.
4. Single file. This does NOT mean STS line. This means get in a single file line, one behind the other, like you're lining up for a meal. If possible, organize by rank. Higher ranks in the front, lower ranks in the back.
[SIMPLE USMC BASICS]
Addressing a superior Warrant Officer or Officer as Sir or Ma'am, and higher ranking Enlisted by their rank.
Show respect at all times of on duty service. Show an example!
Absolutely no bodies(packages) allowed during active duties.
Maturity at all times. You're here for a reason, to serve.

[ON DUTY TASKS]

Proper combat uniform requirements at all times.
Maturity, don't go trigger happy and kill everyone you see.
RoE(Rules of Engagement).
[Rank Regulations]
If you were in the USA and you leave and decide to rejoin. DO NOT ask me or my Command Staff to put your rank to what it used to be! It is your fault you left the group so you will have to work your way back up! If you bug me or my Command Staff about your old rank, we will just simply ignore you.
ALL promotions will be given as your officers see fit. There is NO WAY you can ensure a promotion for yourself. Just follow this guide to the best of your ability and hope an officer sees potential in you. And remember, there’s no shame in being a Private or Staff Sergeant! Every military needs good, strong, obedient members to show its enemies who’s boss. Be happy to be part of the group; never be upset about your rank. Keep up this attitude and never complain!
