"No shader support" I admit this needs to be fixed
"low quality textures" 1024 x 1024 is good enough for most people, if you need anymore you can just cut up the texture into 4 parts to make 2048 x 2048 textures but I'm hoping they increase the limit sometime in the future
"low polygon meshes" Keeping your polycount low and baking all the extra detail is good practice anyway
"2 minutes long audio limit" I'm also not sure why there's a limit in length and not file size.. I agree
"cannot animate meshes" I agree with this one too, roblox animation tools is.. limited I wish I could just use blender to just do what I want
"small color palette not based on rgb" There's.. a work around I guess
"basic gui support" I agree with this one too

>No shader support then ROBLOX wouldn't be able to be supported from all these platforms with shaders. >low quality textures Really it's up to the person who makes the textures to be low res or high res. >low polygon meshes You can combine several meshes together, this is to prevent your PC from crashing >2 mins long audio limit Easier to moderate >cannot animate meshes Computers can't distinctly know what you want to animate meshes without seperating all the triangles and a lot of mess until you create an animation program. >small colour pallete You can change the colour pallet using the function :fromRGB to change the RGB of a brick or what not. >basic gui support Guis are integrated into ROBLOX since 2007, you can do different fonts, etc.

I'm just gonna start off by saying that features should not be limited by platform. If developer wants mobile version to work flawlessly he doesn't have to add shaders to the game. Decals have bad quality. I can't see why 100k mesh would mean auto crash as it's pretty much standard nowadays. Audio easier to moderate yeah, maybe we should dumb down everything for the sake of comfort. Animations should be built into engine. Colors are limited to brick colors and most of them are unavailable. You can't really do much with guis compared to something like scaleform. And the fonts are limited to basic Latin letters. |

It's not really, it's just a hacked together OGRE renderer with a custom physics engine and a Lua interpreter built on top of a set of class definitions (probably written in C++) slapped with a Lua interpreter.
It's about as complex as a game engine from 15 years ago. Not that impressive. Simple, but not something you'd want for a real game. |

| I just finished a Gave Development class and the program we used (Game Maker Studio) was a pain to use to make a game. Sure, that's for 2D games, but still. It's 100x easier to build a whole level using the Roblox Engine rather than that program, and thanks to my friend the game we presented was god awful. |
