many languages have difficult sounds for english speakers, such as hindi with retroflex consonants, arabic with the letter ع, tamil with the letter ழ், etc
what do you think would be the hardest sound in english for foreigners?

to be honest, i'm terrible at arabic. i can't even read the letters. even my parents are saying i'm bad at it.

clog-wearing windmill tulip enthusiast here (dutch)
i learned english as a natural second language whilst growing up and the only trouble i remember was trying not to trill my r's
was pretty young though so it's probably also related to age. |

| I believe the sound we make for the a in ball or hall is something that Americans do but a ton of other accents and languages just don't have. I think that's the one anyway. |

lots of languages have that, in fact it's how A in latin was pronounced

| Words with quite a few "r"s and "l"s. I'm a native speaker and I still have trouble with words like "rural". |

Same with Valkyrie - the "W" sound. I'm from Germany too, but up north a bit (Potsdam)
